Description

High school senior Silas Bruer is at his last licks of patience with his terrible and painfully underwhelming life. He is pummeled at school, his girlfriend dumps him, and his piss-poor excuse of a father sends him out on an errand late at night that gets him a stalker on his tail.

To make matters worse, the stalker has a vendetta against him, one that leaves Silas mutilated in an alleyway by a dumpster and a half-eaten pizza from Antonio’s Pizza Parlor.

Death by a mysterious skull-faced titan was inevitable, but only temporary. By the time he wakes up again, he is isekai’d to a fantasy world filled with humans, orcs, fae, goblins, and dragons. The world system refers to him as a hero chosen to save humanity’s fallen nation from slavery, oppression, and total genocide.

In a land of magic and monsters, survival is a difficult task, where underground human refugee camps are hidden markers in the dystopian lands of a once flourishing nation. And when the crystal core, an entity keeping the world together is at a critical state and in need of repair, saving the race at the bottom of the food chain becomes an even harder mission.

Level up, loot specialty items, and defeat the dragon princess to save humanity. Luckily for him, Silas has a strong and zany fae wolf girl to show him the ropes and help bulk up his magitek cyber gear.

TLH is a LitRPG Isekai series with a realistic weak-to-strong MC fighting both internal and external conflicts. Follow Silas on his adventure as he dives into a powerful world terrorized by a dragon empire. Expect plenty of action, a sprinkle of comedy, a dash of slow-burn romance, and nail-biting high stakes.

I am thoroughly enjoying this story. The protagonist is likeable, the world and system is well though out and believable, the bad guys are properly bad and the quest to save the world a seemingly impossible task.
Even if you don't normally go for LITRPGs you will like this one.

The Lone Hero: Cyber Initiative [An Isekai Fantasy LitRPG], written by author damienrjames, is a litRPG fantasy novel that follows Silas Bruer, a young man with a troubling life. After being killed by a strange stalker, he is reborn in another world with a System. Chosen as the new hero of the nation of Senterra, he undertakes his adventure against the powers that be, meeting many faces along the way. The story has an excellent amount of numbers-go-up for litRPG fans. It is dark and there is a lot of character-suffering involved (I enjoy it, others may not).
I found the characters, primarily the MC enjoyable to follow. The other characters who we see make sense and are coherent in their actions.
The grammar and spelling are both on point, and I found nothing to note on either front. The flow and prose of the writing are both strong and work well to carry you through the text.
There are images for the characters peppered in throughout the story, which I like.
All in all, if you’re looking for a litRPG that has a lot more bite to its darkness than most, then you should give this one a fair shot - provided you have the constitution for it. =)

I read lots of scifi type books, but for some reason I have NEVER read anything like this before. Mixing fantasy and scifi to this magnitude was an excellent change in the genre. The Lone Hero is not only deep but it is also funny and liberating. Thankfully, I picked an excellent new addiction on Royal Road ticking all of the marks for me.
Without giving away too much from the book, Silas is a high schooler set to graduate in a few weeks. He goes out at night for an errand and gets a text from a mysterious girl. He realizies he is being stalked and meets his maker. As isekai novels do Silas is transported to a fantasy world of five races one which is in serious need of saving. Through quests he levels up. But I promise you it is not that simple.
The series gives me lots to chew on. Characters to look out for and sub plots to follow throughout Silas and Jezz adventure. The incorporation of gears was brillant because it gives humans a fighting chance and the reversal effect of gears give other races something to fear. It is just brilliant. I will be watching this series all the way through.

I am a sucker for this genre so take that into consideration, me loves a good Sci-Fi background in the world.
This one follows the story of our brave hero Silas, your average bullied character that still after years of abuse, stills stands proud against the injustice in the world!
    Style:
Good style of weaving the story. I have no complaints on this front since it is easy to read and enjoy.
    Grammar:
    Perfect, no complains here!
    Story:
The world is described in a nutshell by Navi (Devicho) in a rush, but even so, we get the overall picture easily enough, and after that, we get another explanation by the nekomimi of turn. We get a description of the world, the goddess of the world, and the creation of the world.
We find out the problems made by the species at large, and hope we find a better dragon besides the one found at the start and as such. I am praying for that!
    Characters:
No complaints here either, while I personally feel the main character can be somewhat one-dimensional at the start but it starts to grow on you the farther you go into it.
The nekomimi is somewhat pushy but we can forgive her because nekomimi ears are justice!
Am I biased? SUE ME! SHE SOUNDS CUTE!
I would not stay near hear because she is Fae but that is on a side note.

Character: The characters in the story, particularly Silas and Devicho, continue to be depicted in a realistic and three-dimensional manner. Silas's determination and resilience shine through, and his internal monologues provide insights into his motivations and personal growth. Devicho's personality and interactions with Silas add depth to their relationship and contribute to the overall development of the characters. Lucyna is a complex and intriguing character whose presence heightens the stakes and adds a layer of intrigue to the narrative. Her role as a formidable antagonist make her a captivating character to follow as the story unfolds.

Damn, well, this sure was an experience. In a positive sense, I was surprised at how quickly the story got down to the action after pulling the tried and tested 'shitty life before isekai' start and I can't say I was let down by the characters either. On the contrary, our protagonist has a sense of humor and the even the mundane earth villains are so evil you'd want to strangle them yourself. Strap in for a LitRPG of wild and whacky proportions, because this story hits you like carbonated water out your nose.

Our main character is a bullied, beaten-down guy whose soul burns with injustice. One day as he's walking near his home, he meets a strange woman, and shortly after is attacked and killed. Only, he doesn't die, but instead wakes up in a world, told that he is the chosen one to save it....
    Style
Generally a good style. Some issues with word choice - not very effective, or incorrect for the context - but the story generally flows nicely and the poor word choices don't really inhibit either understanding or enjoyment. The mix of action and information is well-balanced and the story feels pacy, while still revealing important facts.
    Story
It's an interesting story where the world in which he has landed has a long history of its own, a history which has direct implications for the main character. There seems to be some sort of technological influence, with 'cyber' being thrown around a number of times. As of chapter 6, I'm still not completely clear on what this is, but I'm sure it will become evident soon. I like the system that has been introduced so far, and am sure that the details will also be revealed in the near future.
    Character
The main character seems decent, a fairly normal guy, but one who's been through some tough times. He's also potentially got some fighting history thanks to his dad. He deals relatively well with the sudden transition and gets straight down to business. As for the second character who's been introduced, what's not to like about a cute, zany wolf-girl who's also badass and good-hearted? Do I sense a love interest...?
    Grammar
Generally grammar is good - it's really on word choice where the author falls down from time to time.

Later on in the story some things make a bit more sense. I was really wondering why the author pulled the “13 days till game over" thing and I guess it gets justified somewhat. Hopefully it was actually intended. Aside from that, still not sure how I feel about the intro of “random orcs happen to report directly to the immediate subordinate of the big bad” into “big bad is effectively omniscient” combo as well as the retroactive changes to kneecap Silas’ growth. Feels bad reading about “exclusive exp decreasing poisons” being retroactively added in author's notes to justify Silas going up 1 (one!) level from killing a level 50 monster. Also not sure about the "yeah orcs are literally eating humans but let's be friends!" thing either. Just a lot of things that make it clear this is the author's first fiction.

I'm not so sure why this was rated so highly. The pacing is lightning fast to the point where there is essentially no real description of the new world, just set pieces and locations the protagonist is at. The characters feel 2 dimensional and cliche and the grammar has at least a couple of errors per chapter and on top of that the writing style feels off. The story is as generic as the synopsis would lead you to believe. I would not under any circumstances unless you are young and new to reading webfiction isekai in general recommend this to you.
