The life of a teenage hellworlder

Description

We've all heard of the trope that Earth is a deadly planet by galactic standard; and has thus honed humanity into a ruthless species bent on surviving at all costs.

As it turns out, that trope is true. Sapient species that evolve on safe planets develop to be peaceful and compassionate - and the ones that do on dangerous ones become violent and selfish out of need - usually wiping themselves out.

But obviously, noteveryviolent species drives itself to extinction - resulting in the few that make it to the space age being feared and ostracized - including humans.

The life of a teenage hellworlder is a sci-fi slice of life story that revolves mainly around Thomas, a sixteen-year-old New Britannian attending a Xeno high school, who befriends a lonely apex predator named Javqua.

Getting written by two amateur teen writers, things may sometimes be inconsistent or be confusing - feel free to comment and point out these problems.

Gore, profanity, and traumatizing content tags are only for minor events in the story and do not happen often.

Chapters are around 1k - 2k words - pretty short, but that's because we're all busy with our own lives and school. Trust us - we would gladly upload 5k word chapters if we could. We tend to upload new chapters every Saturday or Sunday.

It is good to see a fun premise like earth secretly being a hellworld according to the rest of the galay done well, and the cutesy slice of life thing just adds to the fun. Beware you will meet xenophobes in this story so be prepared for it, but the fluff more than makes up for it and the reactions are enough to mek ya split ya sides sometimes .

Based upon the sparsely worded book description, I wasn't sure what to expect from this story.  And the writer didn't engage in much of info dumping to provide a proper setting either.  But it seems to take place in a future akin to Star Wars with a blend of different alien races living together . . . with some hidden intrigue.  The author uses an unorthodox writing style of multiple POVs for some chapters, and I'm not convinced it's necessary.  The pacing is good, and the author provides an interesting theme that's uncommon in this website.  I strongly recommend this story to fans of Star Wars.

I was always skeptical when you began writing this next to me in English and Maths haha.. but as a close friend I supported you and deciced to give it a read. THIS STORY IS FANTASTIC!!!
From the get go I felt encaptured into the story telling. Even though this story is not completed yet... the descriptive themes are something I have never seen from you and I am really proud of you buddy. Well done.
For anyone reading this review, I pray that you give this book a read. Further more support my friend and make sure his writing career expands!

This is a fun HFY, slice of life story. The characters are likeable. The prose is clear and easy to read. Plot wise, this seems to be classic HFY (aliens are terrified of this new race to enter the galactic community  because we are predators from an impossibly dangerous world)
This is an enjoyable read, I recommend it .

A great story from r/HFY there's four chapters so I can't really say much about it but it seems to hold up really well. There's also a lot ot HFY tropes that can be used so expect something slightly different from usual Isekai (with a twist) you see on RR.
I give this story my Spoon of Approval

definetly recomend if you're into soft-sci fi and slice of life.
it also has elements of action on occastion that are well written and have atention to detail.
I definetly enjoyed it and cant wait for more.
its still early, but its definetly promising and is something different on this site.

Pretty well-written. There's some spelling and grammar issues, but there's less and less every chapter. You can tell that the author(s) are doing the best they can to write a good story.
For a story that wasn't planned out at all, it's surprisingly good.
The story is pretty much 'exactly what it says on the tin', so if you like slice-of-life aliens after first-contact stories, this one's for you.

A nice sci-fi school story, whit little science and a lot of alien. The school story is a little classic but very well write whit "normal" interaction who aren't always greek tragedy, the ambient description is minimal but has everything that is necessary and I like it. I would have liked a little more of backstory about the federation and the first contact with the human as the story go on but I hope for the future.
