The Life Between Worlds - VOL I

Description
Unfortunately, this story is on an indefinite hiatus. It was my baby worldbuilding project for the better part of a decade before I even started publishing. I had to take a break from posting it in 2021 because of major life changes. Then, in early 2022, around the time I was looking to get back into writing, a little-known indie game called Elden Ring released, you might have heard of it. If you have read this story, you might recognize a few similarities between its world and The Lands Between. Unfortunately, based on my plans, they were only going to keep getting more similar the further on the story went.
That killed off most of my motivation to keep working on this out of fear that it would seem like I was ripping off of a popular game. I eventually want to get back around to finishing this story, but for now, I just want to keep this page alive for posterity and as proof that I was here first.

In the wake of the attack on Anghelen, Mili is left unsure of what to do next.
Nephern and Sterthen are gone, leaving her to care for their daughter Kene. The giant she rescued from the woods wakes up calling himself Arthen, insisting he is from another world, and requesting her help to get back. On top of all of that, there are whispers about the threat that spurred on the attack brewing another plot in the Helefiran and how the Empire is going to respond.
With her father's warnings about the dangers of the Empire still ringing clearly in her ears, what will she do next?

- Fnord13Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The main character in this story, who is a young medic and "Dark Trader" named Mili, is confronted by an interesting problem. She has to deal with three very different racial cultures, the Empire, the Elves, and the "Giants", none of which she fully understands. But because she has lived her life in the border zone between the Empire and the Elves, and has recently learned how to use her magical healing abilities to enable her to exchange memories with others, she is the only person who can communicate with the members of all three cultures. And the three cultures appear to be heading for war against each other. If Mili is going to prevent this war, and perhaps save the Empire and the Elves from being conquered by the "Giants", who may actually be Humans, she needs to greatly improve her understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of all three cultures.
While this story so far only has a few chapters, it is a sequel to the Prolog, which the author has made a seperate story, and which introduces the world and some of the main characters. The spelling and grammar are all good, and won't interfere with the reader's enjoyment of this story.
