The writing is good. The authors using good descriptive language, has not smashed one word into the ground yet. I like the prose, the author really does a good job of describing everything.
The story is interesting, it's an iskei and seems well done in the premise. I like stories that show how people adapt to their new surroundings. It looks like the character is going to start out with some serious advantages, but not overpowered at the start.
Grammar
Grammar seems good enough. I read fast so I skip Over typos for the most part, not that I am seeing any. The prose seems good. Some one else in comments is pointing out the grammar mistakes, so they might all be fixed by the time more people read the early chapters.
The story is interesting, the world building seems well done. We get some hints at what is coming with out info dumps.
Character
Well fleshed out, believable and interesting. I like the main character he has the right amount of realism, he's not a psychopath, and not a wimp. The other character, who looks to be a temporary one(?) Is also well written, so there is hope that the side characters won't be cardboard cut outs.
- Shades98Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Okay, the author has some minor grammer and spelling in this story, but has obviously trying be part of the Writathon Challenge. I expect the author will go back an edit these simple changes in the future, but it really doesn't detract from the story.
The story itself seems to be a well thought out world with a lot of different things that we will get to learn with the MC. The pace of the story so far seems to be well thought out. The MC is a self confessed Coward in the begining and it has been enjoyable experience to see him grow and I hope the growth will continue in the future due to him being in the stage of 'Fake it till you make it'.
It is a card based progression story where unlike others the individual cards grow through experence and absorbing other cards. It seems to be a bit different from most of the other Card story.
I have enjoyed this story to this point and will continue to read it. - Snipez911Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So I'm only like 20 or so chapters in but fun so far. Lots of potential and the author has a solid writing style and voice. Some authors take a minute to find their feet but we seem to have started off strong. Really looking forward to where they take us. Just recently started reading card mechanic litrpg so it's a fun twist on the genre for me. Very interested to see where the author goes with his interpretation of card based skills. So much fun!
- Coal25Royal Road★★★★★ 5.017 chapters in and I'm genuinely enjoying the story/characters/progression offered. The story is well-written, engaging, and definitely does a good job of setting up the story. You can tell by the amount of detail input into the first few chapters that there is limitless possibilities as far as where the story can go. The author also does a good job of grounding the main character with real, life-like emotions.
- UnOriginalRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As someone who reads a lot on RR, I can tell that this story will go far. The MC and the world building is logical and believable. The writing is concise and the grammar is good. Hopefully, the author will keep up the good work. Looking forward to more chapters.
- llew_wolfRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good story, I didn't think I would like it, never found deck books to be very interesting. But this blew my expectations out of the water! Love the storytelling and Mc, and can't wait to find out what happens next!
Keep up the good work and please don't let the 0.5 stars get you down! ^-^ - KaeienRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is the first card style game I have read, but I like it! I love the MC! The world building is great! I like the character growth and the mechanics of the genre. Go ahead, take the story for a whirl, give it a fair share, and deal yourself a good story!
- DraecathRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thomas Lowe got the chance of a lifetime to live the dream of many readers of isekai stories or was it a nightmare? In typical isekai fashion, Thomas must survive with little support other than the legendary fool card.
I find the hybrid litrpg/card-based system quite enjoyable. It makes the litrpg have a bit more tangeble substance instead of a status menu filled with skills he has cards he must collect to build his deck and power. In a sea of generic litrpg, stories like this give a nice change while keeping much of what many enjoy in a litrpg.
It's still early but I think this is the beginning of a really interesting story.
Grammer wise I didn't notice any glaring issues stand out to me. It reads smoothly as it should.
Some may find Thomas's impulsive actions offputting but I find them perfectly fitted to someone who recieved the fool card. A fool won't analyze every situation to the littlest detail to make the perfect decision. No, the fool would jump in and deal with the consequences later. The fool may even fool themselves into actions most would not make.
Other than the many who gave him the card and at the beginning no other characters have been intorduced yet so I can't say much about the characters beyond Thomas.
About the only place I'd knick the story is the chapter lengths. Some of the chapters feel too short but many prefer short chapters so it's more of a personal preference - LanteanjRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The updates have been slow but finally we see the potential of the story seeing fruition.
The character building has been slow but it has been realistic.
The world building has been amazing. We dive into the world of Artezia, into which Tom is forcefully pushed into. In a sink or swim situation Tom uses the tools he hasn't been provided to survive and thrive. Tom is still finding his way in a hostile world which takes in people and spits out only bones.
There are some minute grammatical errors in the story which can be ignored.
An excellent deck building story in which comes highly recommended!
