- DarkXSummonerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book has drawn me in and has kept me coming back! The pacing is fantastic as well as likeable characters. The action and fights are well written and has you on the edge of your seat! The guild is funny to watch build and I am excited to see how the book progresses!
- KitaroRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was unexpected; a book recounting the "life" of a druid really took me by surprise. The book captivated me with each chapter. I always finish reading it wanting mor.
Daniel's life reflects reality. Professional players don't really care much about their future, and they pay the price for it if the worst happens, but because Daniel was very talented, he knew how to manage and deliver a fascinating story. - SkarabraeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So, a story starring a druid? That's pretty different, isn't it?
Style: The story's style is very good. The writer does a great job with imagery to convey an image of what the world is like. Other literary techniques is done well, and the tone fits the story.
Story: As for the story itself, it is about someone playing as a druid in an MMO. There aren't many druid protagonists, so this is already good for the novelty of it. However, the story is also good on a general basis. It is able to pull off its druid protagonist very well.
Grammar: I couldn't find any grammatical errors. That does not mean they don't exist, but if they do, they are most likely not distracting enough for most people to notice them. So, I'd say that's pretty good. No complaints here.
Character: The characters are pretty good. The MC especially, he is very fun to read and easy to root for, but I like the side characters too. They are all quite interesting. So, no complaints from me.
I think that you'll like this story if you want a good gamelit, a litrpg, or just something different.
This was part of a review swap. - VoidStrike13Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm currently stuck at chapter 30, mostly because I won't use kindle. I want to read more so badly though. I was intrigued after the summary and chapter 1, but by chapter 30 I'm hooked. I really want karma to bite a couple people in the butt and for Daniel and Julia to get the payback they're owed. The way Daniel goes about leveling and using his knowledge gained from his time as Dante is interesting. He can come across a bit snobbish but overall from a reader's perspective, we can see that he is still hurting. I'm looking forward to eventually finding out how things built up to the result we see in chapter 1 and the fallout from the actions of those hiding behind the curtains. With the reveal of class rarities and evolutions, I am wondering how Daniel's friends will get their upgrades and what trials they will have to go through in an attempt to unlock them. I am hoping that we do get a physical copy of the book as I will buy that in a heartbeat, especially when I can show the author my support outside of reviews. Here for the great story and looking forward to reading more.
- pokolokoprimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The work is very good and extremely engaging. The legendary druid was one of the main reasons I started playing RPGs as a druid, haha, and it left a strong impression on me. The story, the characters, and the world-building are all excellent, and everything feels very well crafted. I’m really enjoying the experience and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next chapters.
- J.S.K. ArcturusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fantastic story, absolutely ate up every word here and jumped to kindle to continue reading.
The world, and characters are well written and the story follows a nice progression. MC is talented but not over powered giving everything a nice natural feeling.
Anyone adding this to their lists I would strongly recommend.
Just got to wait for book three now. - HardislavRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The Legendary Druid is a really solid read, offering a neat twist on the standard LitRPG setup. The story expertly blends the main character (Daniel/Ragnar) restarting as a new class with the huge advantage of his veteran knowledge. This dynamic is instantly engaging; it’s genuinely fun to follow him exploring the class and the game with fresh eyes, while also leveraging his pro experience.
I particularly enjoyed the pacing once the story gets going. It starts a little slow for my personal taste, as the author takes time for world-building and plot setup, but stick with it—it gets better with every chapter! The world and its rules (like what happens upon character death, or in-game pain) are clarified naturally alongside the plot, which is a lovely touch.
The characters are a major strength. Daniel is sympathetic in his own way, and the side characters fit perfectly into the team dynamic. I especially love the natural way they tease each other; that friendly banter makes them feel much more human and makes you excited for their next adventure together.
And finally, the Druid class is a fantastic choice! It adds a refreshing variety to the typical fantasy role distribution, and it’s genuinely fun to read how much more Daniel enjoys the possibilities of the Druid compared to his old Warrior class.
Overall, great classic fantasy setting, strong character work, and a story that gets better as it goes! Highly recommended. - Silver_LoreRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A great read with a unique approach compared to other VRMMORPG stories.
Unlike other stories, this one treats the game as a game! Instead of suddenly pretending that everything is real and starting to treat NPCs as people, pretending to be hungry and acting as if that were the real world, the work treats things as they should be.
I'm not a big fan of MMORPG works precisely because the authors don't know how to treat the game as a game, but in this case, I was pleasantly surprised to read it.
Furthermore, the protagonist is interesting as a character and the writing is also very good, properly revised and without visible errors.
Despite this, I must say that my favorite part is precisely outside the game, in the interaction between the characters in the "real world".
I look forward to the next chapters.
Well... it seems I need more words, so I'll add some observations about the choice of druid as a class: I've never seen it before!
Necromancers are saturated, assassins with daggers, mages/warriors with swords even more so. I think I've never seen a druid chosen as the protagonist until now, and I must say, it turned out to be quite interesting. - TheSheepManRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5If you are a fan of the typical VRMMORPG setting this is definitely worth a read. The MC is a pro player who has plenty of experience and isn't just purely winging it and getting by on luck alone. A good take on the Druid archetype, but its not just an OP class but a player who understands how to use it. All in all I will definitely stick around and if it seems right for you, give it a try.
- Gale SettRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Do you like RPG? Druids? Strategy?
If so, this story is for you.
This is an imaginative and well-written RPG in novel form. The first chapter is written like an afterthought, but it is intentional. The real heart of the story is in the game itself.
It’s the kind of world where players have each other’s backs and apply great resources to defend order and civility. As I was reading it, I couldn’t help but wish that gamers would apply that same good will to the real world.
Oh well. Better to see it in a game than not at all.
I found this story easy to read and fun. The cooler kids and kidults are going to love it. Good work.
