The Legend of the Phoenix Archmage: The Edenian War

A youngCorvo Rhedisets out to the religious capital of theMerdelum Empire, theCity of Caelum, to receive a formal education as well as basic survival skills at one of the Empire's most prestigious military academies, so he may become a mercenary who travels the world and helps people along the way, just like his parents did before he was born.

However, as theFlyingCity of Magic, Edenia, is suddenly wiped out without a trace, and theThree Thrones of Humanityare now at each others throats, his dreams are put on hold as he becomes drafted by the military and has to help in the war effort.

This story is a prequel to "The Wizard of Teles", and was intended as a sort-of lore-dump when I first started writing it.The last part of the trilogy is "The Yellow-Clad-Seer".
