The land of Terramaul was once plagued by monsters that had an insatiable appetite for human flesh. Only because of Sir Andigre, his four spire knights and the sorceress Grail was the human race saved for while they beat back the monsters, a wall was erected to contain the madness. The wall split the continent in two and while some monsters escaped to the north, most were contained to the south, snapping and snarling...just waiting for the chance to break through. But in the north, peace and prosperity reigned as long as the wall stood tall, defended by knights of great renown and deeds.
A thousand years later, Judd LaMogre, the eldest son of a (barely) middle class family leaves the ancient metropolis of Astaril with a sword in his hand, a reluctant cleric by his side and a list of ten monsters he must slay. For if he does so, he will receive a knighthood and fulfill his childhood dreams of heroism, of adventure and brave deeds. Along the way he encounters a witch, an archer, a minstrel and a weaponsmith...and the darkness that is Maul, the might of the south which is bent on killing every last human.
