Kael Arcturus was having a bad day. Sure, getting hit by a car was rough, but waking up with the power to control shadows and raise the dead? That’s just overkill. Now, as the last Umbramancer in a world where supernatural powers are hidden (and apparently come with zero instruction manuals), Kael has to figure out how to master his new abilities before someone—or something—kills him. Again.

With a cryptic vampire mentor who’s probably using him, a college friend who’s way too curious for her own good, and a shadow panther that thinks it’s a house cat, Kael’s life has gone from boring to borderline apocalyptic. Oh, and let’s not forget the global conspiracy that wants him dead because, apparently, being the rarest supernatural powerhouse on the planet makes you public enemy number one.

As Kael stumbles through raising his first undead army (because who doesn’t need a few skeleton minions?), dodging vampire assassins, and trying not to get eaten by werewolves, he realizes one thing: being the Emperor of Shadows sounds cool in theory, but in practice, it’s mostly just a lot of paperwork and existential dread.

"The Last Umbramancer" is a darkly hilarious, action-packed ride through a world where the shadows are alive, the dead are chatty, and the only thing scarier than Kael’s enemies is his own power. Will he rise to become the ultimate dark lord, or will he just give up and let the vampires eat him? Either way, it’s going to be a bloody good time.
