The Last Timeline - Book 1 Complete (Book 2 not on RR and is incomplete)
Community Rating
Description
After doing everything the right way in the first timeline, Frisk was compelled to do the genocide route for what they felt were "good" reasons. In doing so, they have broken utterly and become something new. Something absolutely devoted to Sans, and not remotely sane. Now they are striving to fix everything and find their path forward. What the hell is Sans supposed to do now?
Book 1 is complete and is available here. Book 2, though, I decided to only publish on one site, instead of 3, so it's onArchive Of Our Own, since I got the most engagement there.
This story is born of my own extremely tangled feelings about doing the genocide route. It was not originally planned to have any sexual content, it wasn't even going to be a romance. It was just my own soul bleeding out, my own complicated feelings towards Sans, and wanting to find an in-universe expression for it. Then hundreds of thousands of words happened, and also really, uh, erotic stuff, and I'm like, whatever, sure, let's share this.
A key thing - Frisk is not, at any point, a child in this story.
It's also about 80k words before anything sexual happens, or even really anything romance-related. It's a weird story, not gonna lie. It's an exploration of a world in which Frisk commits the genocide route for sorta-good reasons, loses their mind, latches onto Sans in a frankly insane way, and all the fallout that comes from those basic points.
A few final points. All of Sans' dialogue is in Comic Sans, written the way it is in game, which for some reason isn't successfully copy-pasted into RR. :( So you'll have to live with his lowercase writing combined with a regular font. Chapter 1 is basically the only chapter in which game dialogue is directly copied, but he speaks a lot. He tends to be the viewpoint character.
This story isn't done, but it's large. I do want to finish it, but no promises. I'm currently doing weekly releases and maintaining a small buffer of a few chapters so that if I have an off week, I don't panic or anything, hahaha.
So, real info on the content warning:
Profanity - I really don't think it's enough cursing to warrant the tag, but also I curse a lot myself, so I checked it just in case.
Sexual content - when sexy stuff happens, it's explicit, but that doesn't even start to get touched on for about 80k words.
Graphic violence - It's absolutely not a gore-fest. At the same time, Frisk gets extremely accustomed to violence and death, and that's played with extensively. It's rarely graphic, but if you're squeamish about mentions of blood and physical harm, maybe pass on this. The first chapter is fairly tame, so it might be a good benchmark - if you agree it's tame, you're fine.
Sensitive content - Lots of little things here, but nothing too bad? Neither Sans nor Frisk are remotely mentally healthy, in dramatically different ways. Frisk has been kinda completely fucked up, especially from the genocide route. There are complications that result from this.
Also, the cover art was AI generated. If I ever make money off this (which, let's be real, will never happen) I'll commission an actual artist. (Which I have done many times. Also, happy to accept fan art for a cover image instead of AI, too).
AI Disclaimer: No generative AI has ever been used, or will ever be used, for this or any story I ever write. While AI is occasionally used in the process, such as helping to organise chapter structure or to catch errors, there is nothing that ever will reflect any "voice or tone" other than my own.
Lastly, this is posted this on two other places: ArchiveOfOurOwn and Fanfiction.net, with the same username (EllaWhyteTales).STATUS NOTE:Book 1, which is here, is again, complete. The full story, though, is not looking good to get finished. The reason I wrote it was because of working through a specific mental tangle. I'm not sure I'll be coming back to it, though I hope to.

- Akito B. TakahashiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Man, it pains me to see hard work going unnoticed. Like, seriously. Ella even narrated her own audiobook? Sure, it's only one chapter, and sure, it's a fan-fic, but give this girl a medal!
Now, we didn't write this because the author specifically said, "If you're here, could you please consider tossing a rating or review my way? This story doesn't have a single one so far, and I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!" Rather, it's insanity that her talents are not receiving attention. Plus, it'll reassure her that, at least, I'm not a bot.
Now onto the review! Which, mind you, took me a lot of time to make after careful consideration.
Don't think I've ever given a novel on this site five stars yet. But this particular ff offers an interesting take on the familiar Undertale setting. Ella does a fair job at exploring the ups and downs of almost every character. Yet, I couldn't help but notice how some of them (no spoilers) are driven to desperate measures on the genocide route. The MC also has an unsettling devotion to others, and the strange surge of timelines all create an immediate sense of intrigue for the story as a whole.
The writing style is engaging and flows well. I especially appreciate how Ella captures the tension and alarm the characters feel in every chapter. The dialogue feels natural and in-character, highlighting everyone's traits and hidden concerns.
I'm particularly curious about the anomaly in the plot. And while the story is already written nicely, here's one suggestion to make it even more compelling: stop with the subtle hints! I hope you know what I'm referring to, Ms. Anomaly.
Apart from that, I'm currently only seeing one issue: Ella. Some of the story (as it progresses) is absurdly long. That's not you, by the way. On the app, it reads just fine, but on the website, there's something strange. I think it's RR's formatting. And no, I didn't let that affect this review. It might just be a user error kind of thing. After all, your chapters do exceed th
