Will Elian stay forever solitary and explore the world the best he can or become a tyrant King? Something we, the reader do not know for now.I hope we will see a sprawling world with many layers of conflict in this and have great hope for a new entry in an old formula.

Amazing novel I love how the mc can’t one shot characters immediately and relies on traps, I also love how the mc is evolving from monster to more monstrous, also I love Blue he’s the best. Also those people falsely reporting comments over 5 stars are horrible and should get banned and get a life

Overall it’s a very good book. I don’t usually read monster books but this one is not to bad. Can’t wait until he get to the surface and destroy the people who betrayed him. I like more solo books but since he’s not human this one is great. I love blue !!

A well thought out story written in a concise style. The language used is descriptive and the main character and sidekick work well together, an assassin needs a good tank as a diversion! I'm keen to see how Elian can evolve further, helping his slime buddy to evolve up too.

the story gradually makes the main characters motivation and his relationship with the world clearer especially the fact that revenge is the main force pushing him forward and that it is a conscious choice rather than a necessity gives the narrative extra weight at this point his more cynical and cautious nature fits well with the overall tone of the storythe way the main character develops his abilities through trial and error rather than mastering them all at once is noticeable habits carried over from his past such as collecting valuable items and keeping equipment he finds still influence him and make him feel more grounded the presence of a companion also adds to the journey and prevents it from feeling like a completely solitary experiencethe environments offer a different structure and set of dangers in each chapter each location having its own order flora and fauna makes the world feel alive and keeps the sense of exploration active even though the author of this book is my partner i am writing this as a reader so far the story has formed its own clear direction and it creates curiosity about new developments and encounters in the chapters ahead💗💗💗💗💗💗

I usually don't read light novels but was bored of webtoons so I decided to give it a try. I really liked this one and I think it is pretty good. The chapters release frequently and doesn't seem like it'll be dropped-off. I think the writing is pretty clear and concise so you understand easily. I also liked the main character. You should definitely read this.

The story has a quick and to the point stat and doesn't wallow in the absurdity or anguish of the mc's situation, the main character thus far has shown personality and typical progression mc one liners sometimes which are a lil cheesy but i like it,What i do not like is the path of progression the author chooses for the mc- no i didn't say the path the mc chooses, earlier the mc plans the become a stealthy but powerful hunter, which is imidately ignored as the mc absorbs materials for evolution, gets a ton of cool traits like parasitic adaptability or sonar but nope- scrapped because the author is trying to fuse 2 mcs together, the slicy magic spider from 'so im a spider? So what?' And the magic void slug from traveler's initiative', i have developed a cynical view towards all stories with generic progression choices like this which seek to explore other parts of a well trodden path instead of finding a truly unique style of progression genuinely based on the story's environment- BUT NOPE, LMAO RANDOM VOID QUALITY RANDOM SILK SPINNING QUALITY, YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GETTING A FRESH TAKE ON AN OLD IDEA??? SIKE! GET STELTH-DARKNESS-MAGE PILLED IDIOT, EAT UR GENERIC FLOWERLY WORDED FIGHT SCENE SLOP LIKE A GOOD LEMMING AND PRAISE THE PEA- obviously i am biased against the story for this choice, but the writing and grammar are solid, and even if the fights are plane round top white bread, its still good quality bread, read if you don't care about the stealth void revenge hunter predator stuff or if that stuff is ur kinda thing

So, honestly I enjoyed a good portion of this story but the further I get the less I like it. Every major problem is solved with a one off ability that is never seen again. It all just feels like an old metroidvania game where progress to a new zone is locked behind and ability only used to get to the new area or to solve one puzzle. Major parts of the evolution system just change rules randomly for no explained reason. It almost feels like different sections are written by different people who know the overall plot but not the specifics or the rules of the world.

edit: i’ve read a bit further now and the edge lord vibe has toned down more. the main character isn’t constantly thinking about “old human him” vs “new monster him” he’s just sorta becoming who he is type thing. which is way more satisfying narratively in my opinion. My biggest issue though is still that there’s no foundation laid down for anything ever. skills can just suddenly be used like that. that’s just suddenly a thing that’s happening. etc. there’s no world building really, things just suddenly exist like that and we are supposed to magically understand why and how, and perfectly fit it in with the story. granted the character issue started getting better and maybe this will too at some point but i just cant stick it out any longer to really get to that point yk?so far it doesn’t seem bad and i plan on continuing to read it. the entire mentality switch at the drop of a hat is sorta annoying so far? there’s zero transition just suddenly “i’m not that guy anymore everything is just a tool for me to use and those around me exist for my convenience and benefit” i understand the premise of him being betrayed and think that it’s totally reasonable for that to have had an effect, but the 180 just sorta gives edgelord vibes in the worst way? that being said, i’m hoping as the author gets into the rhythm of the story tgat it will change. right now there’s no human mind in the monster it’s basically just a monster hunting the way it would normally but “it’s different bc he used to be human and now he’s edgy”

Up until Chapter 46, the story goes pretty well, and delivers on what it promises. A man dies, and is reborn as an awful bug monster, proceeding to do what an evolving bug monster SHOULD do.Unfortunately, it violated the promise of a "Non-Human MC", beginning with a direct parallel to The Matrix Pill Scene. The protagonist becomes a Human with bug-like aspects. At the same time as their Humanization, however, an arguably worse change begins to grow alongside it.The Main Character has become ""smart"". The "I see Reality as just Math" human calculator type, who begins to use quips and phrases like"This place is a school. And we are just in the first grade"or""Back to basics, Blue," I said. "I must learn to lay bricks before building a building.""and the sort when they arent simply stating the obvious as if it's sagagious wisdom, seemingly in an attempt to make the Protagonist seem Wittier and Wiser than they act? To give examples, ranging vaugely Chapters 50-60:But it was too early to relax. Because this rock pillar, this "Safe Zone," hadn't just occurred to us. The summit was about the size of a room. And in the darkness, there were other eyes looking at us. We weren't the only ones escaping the flood.[ENEMY DETECTED] [TARGET: RAIN RAPTOR x2] [Level: 17] [Type: Reptile / Pack Hunter]They looked like dinosaurs, but their skin wasn't feathered; it was slippery and scaled. Their color was gray-blue, perfectly camouflaged in the rain. Their claws were curved like hooks for gripping rocks. And the space was tight. There was no room for four (two of us, two of them). One hissed. The fan-like gills on its neck flared open. " Blue," I said, slowly standing up. My mana was low.[MP: 60/350]. "We're playing musical chairs. And I don't like lying on the floor."One of the Raptors lunged with unexpected speed. It didn't slip on the slick surface; on the contrary, it used the water to accelerate.[COMBAT STARTED]"Shield!" Blue stepped in front of me and turned into a spiked wall. Th
