The first chapter is based on a short story originally written by Robert Walzer in 1914, and translated by Christopher Middleton. It is a retelling for 2021 or the “long 2020” by me. The following chapters are originals by myself.

- RznRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I am not familiar with the original story, but the sort of back and forth and hostility in chapter 1 is indicative of a rather unhinged or at least someone who has difficulties in presenting themselves. After that the rest of the piece has more than what I would call snark. The comments by the author help understand the mindset, though it is over-the-top and it really doesn't come across as satire. It is good, but it does feel like it has barbs.
