Description
Owen installed the Isekai App on his phone. It took him to another world; there wasn't even a truck involved.
But it wasn't what he expected. He found himself in a beautiful island paradise where almost everyone had installed the App. Nobody had volunteered for it. The Isekai App had brought them here; was there a way back? How had it been done? Why?
Owen knew he was going to escape and explore this world. The makers of the App had other plans.
And, as it turned out, the world itself had plans for Owen.
But Owen wasn't anybody's Chosen One. He had no magic powers, no mighty weapons. But he had spite.
And spite can change the world. Perhaps more world than one.

- manaspikeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is not a LitRPG Isekai with an over powered, harem seeking protagonist.
This is a Philip K. Dick short story mashed together with Robinson Crusoe and a dash of Alice in Wonderland and the Island of Dr Moreau. On an ocean world filled with magical sentient aliens. And not a single blue box anywhere in sight. - RightThereInTheTitleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story instantly pulls you in with a unique premise. And I don't just mean "it's an app that transports you" - it's the fact that the setting is populated by other people who were Isekai'ed (is that how you say it?), AND that they're copies rather than being teleported, which immediately hooked me.
I think this story's greatest strength flows from that premise. We see the other characters instantly form the same social structures from our world - because they, too, have been "Isekai'ed". I love seeing Owen dealing with jerks and cliques and all the same nonsense we have to deal with in real life, all while trying to survive in the world they'd all been transported to.
One caution for potential readers is that this story is FRUSTRATING - in the best way! The sense of being TRAPPED, of trying to overcome the mad scientists who made the app and being easily and repeatedly thwarted... I love it, because I really LIKE stories where the protagonist has to really WORK and struggle for their victories. But someone who is looking for an uncomplicated "guy gets transported to another world and easily wins all the time by being so special" Isekai story will probably not like this story, and should look elsewhere.
My one negative thing to say is that I will NEVER be able to just click through the Terms and Conditions when installing something without feeling a slight twinge of worry. Damn you, that's going to stay with me! - Ryujin2xdRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The Isekai App has anything and everything that you could look for in a web novel. Compelling character. An amazing idea. Fantastic writing. Great Pacing. As soon as I began reading the first chapter, I was hooked. I'm four chapters in, and I can't wait to read more. I love the way the story flows at a great pace. Nothing is rushed or overly-explained.
This is a great story! Read this now! - dayadayaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The way the story is presented is quite acceptable. Not too confusing or long-winded or too bland. It's quite easy to follow the story.
From the storyline side, it is also interesting.
With the background story, MC installs an isekai app. Where the app owner can call or create a copy of the person who agrees and installs the app in another world. Then the app owner uses those people's copies for his own purposes whatever they may be. Create \summon them, abuse them, oppress them, kill them then make new copy of them and over and over again until there are so many bodies buried around. Then one of the MC copies awakens his power, Namely being promoted to the position of Steward, not giving him direct power or making him of power, But give him the opportunity to go and make other acquaintances. That's where the adventure begins. So far the story is pretty good and keeps me interested enough to keep reading.
The point I want to say is that the story is quite interesting, not too boring or too cliché or too similar to other stories.
I'm not very good at English so I don't think there's any problem with grammar so far.
From the character side, it is also relatable. From the MC side, we can also put ourselves in the MC's POV. The MC is still quite likable so that we can be happy when he is happy in the story And I get annoyed when in the story he is annoyed and things like that. The point is that at least we are not frustrated with the MC we follow in the story.
Pardon my English. - Intergalactic PlanetaryRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Do you hate people? Of course you do, you're on Royal Road.
MC is a good guy who hates people worse than anything. What did they do? We don't know yet, but I'm sure he's on the right side of history here.
Was surprised that this is a sci-fi isekai story. Not only is our guy going to another world, but he's got a lot of other people going with him, and he hates them.
They run into aliens. It's all set on islands, in a big tropical ocean, so it feels like a vacation space opera set in the Caribbean. Still don't know why this world is made to be this way but I really like it.
I like the MC. He feels his feelings. He's really, really into an ocean goddess, also from our world, and she's cool and violent as hell and I see his point!
and I can't forget to mention SCHMENDRICK THE PREGNANT ALIEN DINO SORCERESS!!!
Love this story and these characters, love the setting too!
AND THE RADIO - LM_BussimanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ve read up to Chapter 15, and so far this story has been an intense and surprising ride. The premise is bold, mixing dark themes with a sense of mystery that makes every chapter unpredictable. The way the narrative balances horror, humor, and emotional depth makes it stand out among similar works.
Overall: So far, the story is incredibly engaging and creative, striking a great balance between mystery, action, and existential dread. The oppressive atmosphere never feels tiring — it actually keeps you hooked and curious. Every chapter brings either a new revelation or a new layer of tension, and there’s no sense of monotony. The pacing could be slightly smoother in a few moments, but overall this feels like a high-level, professional work.
Style: The writing style is dynamic, with sentences that capture both urgency and desperation. The mix of dark humor with violence gives the story a distinct and memorable voice. It feels similar to modern light novels, but with its own unique authenticity. At times, exposition leans a bit on the direct side, but that’s minor — overall, the style is strong, vivid, and engaging.
Story Score: The plot is original and gripping: the “Isekai App” turning people into “recipes” is disturbing, unique, and full of potential. It blends sci-fi, fantasy, and horror in a way that feels fresh. The mystery surrounding the bones, experiments, and hidden mechanics gives the sense that something much bigger is always lurking behind the scenes — and that’s a fantastic narrative hook. Each chapter expands the scope without losing tension.
Grammar: The prose is clear and well-structured. Pacing, punctuation, and description all work together smoothly. Dialogue feels natural and never forced. There are some small repetitions that could be tightened up, but nothing that hurts readability. Grammar overall is solid and professional, letting the story shine through.
Character: The characters are compelling and multi-layered. Owen, with his mix of sarcasm a - RainieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This opening delivers a compelling mix of dark humor and mystery. Owen's cynical narration is engaging as he navigates the sinister island camp run by the creepy Dr. Harrigan. The worldbuilding raises intriguing questions about copied people and mysterious purposes. Mandy's introduction adds another layer of danger. Well-written and hooks you immediately.
- I.slay.dragonsRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The idea is quite unique which is always a plus for me and I do like the flow of the story, it’s easy to follow and not too complicated but with enough twists to make it a fun read. the story is well edited, I haven’t seen any spelling or grammatical mistakes
- Ember1213Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall, I'm enjoying the story. It reminds of Sword Art Online in its set up where the protagonist and a bunch of other people are trapped in the other world. In this case, everyone was essentially abducted after installing the "Isekai App" which does exactly what the name implies. It's a unique way to get sent to another world to be sure but the entertaining part is the protagonist. Owen is, in a word, spiteful and with the story written from his perspective, it leads to some funny prose. Save for a few small instances, the grammar is spot on and the chapters are fairly short for those who can't sit around reading for too long. Definitely an entertaining time!
- HeliomanceRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Spelling, grammar, and writing style are good, but the viewpoint character is arrogant, misanthropic, is firmly convinced that he's better than everyone around him, and is just generally an unpleasant viewpoint to read. He dismisses everyone his own age as being idiots, and you can feel the contempt dropping off the page.
