Description
Erin had forgotten everything.
Well, that’s not exactly right.
He had forgotten who he was — the person orentity— that he used to be.
He still rememberedthings, though; objects, places, holidays…. He remembered pencils, doctors, and feeding the ducks on Tuesdays.
But through all of his scattered memories, his discombobulated visions of a past forgotten — Erin awoke to something extraordinarily unfamiliar.
Erin awoke as a gemstone; he was violet and small.
He found himself in a dimly lit cavern, underground and discarded. He heard waves crash beyond him; an ocean near.
Erin tried to breathe, blink, move;he tried to live, but against his better expectations — he had no lungs to breathe, no eyes to blink, and no limbs to move.
Waves continued to crash beyond him and when Erin least expected it — something clicked.
The tides of mana around responded to his call.
Although fictitious, mana acted on Erin’s behalf; it became his lungs, his eyes, and his limbs.
When Erin awoke, he didn’t remember much.
Luckily, the things he did remember — he could recreate.
There‘s only one problem; the ocean beyond — a galleon shipwrecked — adventurer’s disembarked — a dungeon discovered.
They found Erin.

- CrazyRoseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: The narrative style of this story really captivated me. The shifting points of view add dynamism and keep the reading engaging. Additionally, I appreciate that there is no clear distinction between heroes and villains. In many stories, characters are portrayed in a very polarized way, but here they feel more human, with their own motivations and beliefs. This makes everything more interesting and unpredictable. I've always enjoyed narratives that move away from the idea of an overpowered hero who solves everything alone, and this story does that very well.
Story: So far, I’ve only read up to Chapter 6, but the pacing has been satisfying. The story progresses naturally, allowing the events and characters to develop at the right pace. I understand that character development takes time, so I don’t expect major changes right away. Also, this is the first time I’ve read a story about a living dungeon, which brings a unique and refreshing element. I found this concept very inspiring.
Grammar: I haven't found any spelling or grammar mistakes, though that’s not a crucial factor for me. As long as the reading is fluid and understandable, minor errors don’t affect my experience.
Characters: Except for the protagonist, all the characters so far are well-developed. They have aspirations, fears, ambitions, and relationships that are well-crafted, making them feel believable and three-dimensional. That said, I know that patience is necessary for the protagonist’s growth as well. I’m looking forward to seeing how they evolve throughout the story.
Overall, I’m really enjoying the read and can’t wait to continue! - ElectrikBlueRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I want to start this review by stating that I have never read anything in the Dungeon genre, and knew nothing of Dungeon's Core or anything of the sorts before reading this fiction. So, please keep that in mind when you read this review.
I gotta say, this is a very cool introduction to the concept.
It achieves balance in suspense and awe-inspiring moments so that even someone without a particular taste for this type of story will be transported.
Style: I feel the style improves as the chapters go on, but it is not really this fiction's highlight for me. It's very efficient, though, while remaining simple.
What works really well is the perspective shifts. The author is excellent at deciding when to switch POV to achieve the desired effect, and as a reader, it's very satisfying.
Grammar: I didn't note anything worth mentioning.
Story: The story so far is quite captivating. The world that has been built seems alive and coherent, and the magic powers are very cool. And the construction of the dungeon seems rooted in something realistic. There are a lot of clever concepts, and you'll have no trouble getting invested in the story.
Character: Erin, the MC, the dungeon core, has no memories of his past life. Thus, he can feel quite empty at first, but it brings an interesting aspect where you start to decipher what comes from ideas rooted in his human origin and things he learns on the go. He's definitely intelligent and worthy of the title of this fiction. The progression of the dungeon is very natural and showcases Erin's wit.
As for the human characters, Kuzo is the cool, badass character. The Allmight of the story, if I may. He's reassuring and a good measure of the dungeon's difficulty so far. Bram has the potential to be very interesting as the story progresses.
Conclusion: I'd recommend it to anyone. Try the first chapter, and you'll see it will suck you right in. - Wyvern_HuntRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Now this is a Dungeon Core story, no systems just pure magic.
If you are looking for a story that is reminiscent of The Dungeon Without a System while being its own thing come and read this story.
Now while this story is in the early stages it holds promise to a fantastic story which I can't wait to read. - Dr.SyedRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I'll start with this - Definitely a great start to the story. I have read through the chapters, and the descriptions are quite well written. Now onto the more advanced review features:
Style - The author has a unique brand of writing, with complex wording and all. So, some people might find it off-putting. BUT, it is a pleasure to read. The highly descriptive words bring a whole lot of color to the story that lets you imagine the scene more vividly. It also breaks away from the routine and not have paragraphs, but I don't think it is bad a thing. Just different.
Grammar - There are some minor grammatical errors when using tenses and such, but nothing too bad. Most of these can be rectified with a second pass or a proofread. Even so, it doesn't stop you from understanding what is going on. So, it's nothing too serious. I myself have to have multiple passes to fix all my grammatical errors, which is where the readers come in to be honest. The review suggestion feature of RR is a life saver for most authors.
Story - When I say the story is good, I mean REALLY good. It has the potential to include deep mystery plots while also giving a fun fast paced adventure. The start is great, and I hope the author continues to explore their creative freedom to build a world for us readers to enjoy.
Characters - A five star here for sure. Just from the few chapters that have been posted so far, I can see the characters are well thought out. They are each unique and have their own motivations and goals. Which allows for a complex hierarchy in the future. They are well established and have a firm base to build upon.
Overall - My honest opinion, definitely a story to follow. I am excited to see where it goes, since it has great potential. And this is based on the few chapters that are actually out.
Keep writing!!
