- Ares1487Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Quite possibly the best Grimdark story I have ever read, the author does a great job of establishing why the world is the way it is, the characters make sense and are quite relateable, I saw nearly no major or minor grammar issues, the story progresses in a natural way, without getting overly bogged down in numbers like some VRMMO novels do.
- StormbringerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written with a good story we will see where this goes
- imperatorADRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very good story, interesting characters and good grammar. Stole 1 whole night of sleep because I couldn't stop reading. Keep up the good work!
- boogelyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Really good take on the genre.
The author has taken the time to think the back lore of the story through, the MC is interesting and engaging with his own flaws and the supporting characters are all entertaining in their own way. - Dima KhlupinRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5It is very interesting to follow the story.
- TbbuRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Book 1 (4.5/5)
Good story and characters, but method of delivery is not good enough.
It has 2 things that are really excellent:
worldbuilding (it is clear this is in or close to the same league as professional authors like Brandon Sanderson, but not George R. R. Martin. Though method of delivery is far below theirs)
morality (struggle to climb up from far down the slippery slope, instead of slipping downwards)
Book 2 (3/5)
Instead of improving on method of delivery the author just cuts away part of what he/she wants to write to 'please the masses', as a result the quality and the authors enthusiasem drops, and ends up rushing the story just to be done with it. - ElorieRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Quality stuff. Recommended!
And here's for the remaining 50 characters required. - Matt598Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Some grammatical errors and certain elements just fall off and get forgotten about, but all in all I'd say it was a worth while read.
The biggest disappointment for me is just familiars not being utilized at all despite their proposed advantages. Also seeing a final stat screen before the final battle would have been nice.
I'd still highly recommend picking it up and reading it if you like the litrpg style genre. While the MC had his secrets behind his background he does also have fairly decent morals all things considered which helps him remain relatable.
One of the nicer parts about this I'll say is that power creep never feels to be an issue. Unlike some stories with hp going from ten to over nine thousand, here the immersion never breaks because there just never was a reason for it to break. Sure some early skills are rarely referenced again
Like overdrain going below 0 in your Mana pool
But all in all a lot of things retain plot relevance and for a "rushed ending" feeling it did still leave a satisfying ending.
Probably for me the only reccomendaton I'd say could be done better is if you could have included a few more references to maps near the end that would have been a welcome treat to see how the big picture ended.
Granted I just read this all at once after it was completed so I guess I missed my chance to ask for stuff before the epilogue. - Slvl710Royal Road★★★ 3.0could of been an interesting take on someone playing a game like its a game, but it completly abandons that for him to be a sao flavored justice c*ck
....it also treats some pretty vanilla opinions and fetishes like they are "things that should not be spoken"...like a kid discovering the dark web or 4chan for the first time....maybe this person grew up in the 2014 era of the internet...it would explain a lot - KemoriRoyal Road★★ 2.0I came into this story not knowing what to expect, the first few chapters set up a story with a half-Eldritch MC using Eldritch magic, who knows owns a mountain fortress in a land with no existing power structure where literally /anything/ goes. And what happens? Our MC is the typical MC who views it all as wrong and wants to impress his moral compass upon the existing denizens to make the place 'better' and 'less evil.' Sorely disappointed. 1 star for grammar. 1 star for spelling. 1 star for sex scenes. 1 star for the long chapters. -2 stars because the story direction took a huge nosedive right away, could've been great, ended up generic and disappointing. Suppose part of the blame is my own for getting hyped about a novel with the set up to a near perfect anti-hero/evil MC in a sword art online meets diablo style world, honestly I thought the MC was sort of just starting out as a Bitch and was going to become more evil as time went on, boy was I wrong.
