Description
In a world suffocated by endless torment and the weight of unseen horrors, Adam and Augustine walk separate paths—one searching for an escape from the void within, the other trapped in the grip of an unrelenting past. As their fates unravel, so too does the thin boundary between dream and nightmare, revealing truths neither is prepared to face.
About the Author:Writing began as an outlet, a way to give form to lingering emotions and memories that refused to fade. What started as a single chapter—a recollection of a night terror—became something more when readers engaged. Though still new to storytelling, I now find myself compelled to see this journey through, refining each word as I search for meaning in the fragments of a story I never intended to tell.

- CidGalceranRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The House That Breathes is an amazing cosmic horror story that stays true to its Lovecraftian roots.
Style: The writing is evocative and creepy. The author spends just enough time building up the unsettling atmosphere without sacrificing the pacing with purple prose. It is a testament to the author's skill that they're able to get you immersed into the world after only a couple paragraphs.
Story: A good horror story lives and dies by a combination of the setup, the stakes, the characters, and the atmosphere. The author manages to balance it all perfectly to deliver a chilling experience to rival the masters of the genre.
Character: Adam, the protagonist, is a compelling character with clear motivations and a clear objective: leave the house. Adam feels real. He is not a mere conduit to tell a story, as it often happens in horror stories, but he's someone you can care about.
Grammar: There are a few errors throughout the story, with misspelt words, punctuation that seems wrong (e.g. full stops in place of commas), and missing capitalisation. However, none of this detracts from the story as the actual text is understandable.
Overall: A great story that's worth reading. The only downside is that there isn't more of it.
