The Hollow Scientist

A female scientist, plagued by a mental disorder, goes about her normal life and work, until a mother with a small child creature, demands it be healed in a weeks time, and then leaves as soon as she appears. As the child's large eyes stare into the scientist's, she feels something she hasn't felt for a long, long time.
