Description
The Hero thinks the Demon Lord's sister is a threat. He is wrong.
Her name is Sollar. Despite being the younger sister of the Demon Lord, she's not all that bright. Most know her as a simpleton, the Demonfolk Generals think she's sheltered, and she's rather ignorant of the greater world. Sollar hasn't seen her brother ever since the War had ended, so she headed out in search of him. Unfortunately for her, the Hero and his Party believe she's a credible threat, and are hot on her tail. However, despite not being the brightest nor the cleverest, this naive Demonfolk girl will do everything she can to meet her brother again!
Story is currently completed, but there will be a sequel sometime in the future!

- Stonefox777Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0“The hero should have known better” is a story following a pair of pairs racing to reach their objective before the other group can, filled with incidental humor and generous amounts of just missing each other die to luck.
style: you are in the shoes of two characters, a young demon by the name of Sollar (more on her later) and a middle aged(?) human that goes by Hero, but has a real name also used fairly often. The hero pursues the demon, and you cut between their pov in chapters, where one will be the hero and his companion pursuing or almost catching the demon, and the next will be the demon stumbling through their fingers, making for a semi-regular feeling of seeing something happen, and wondering how Sollar did it. It is one of the better uses of multiple pov on royal road, and you will hardly feel be bogged down by the shifts.
Story: the outward facing story of Sollar is simple: the demon wants to get to her brother to give him back his crown, and the Hero tries to stop her, thinking her a “second coming” of the demon lord. There are events happening in the background and even foreground that blend from the hero’s dysfunctional party and the demons dealing with them, but overall it is an simple and easy story to engage in. Spoilers for the next segment, as I go into later plot points including the epilogue:
This section includes nitpicks at the story, and I’m afraid that it might seem I dislike the story, which is untrue. I greatly enjoyed reading the story.
The story also shows general fantasy racism, in ways I’m unsure are entirely on purpose. The demon nation, or “demonfolk territories”, were recently taken by humans in an event only ever called “the war”. We are never told who started the war, or even why it started, but it is heavily implied to be a human-started expansionist war, with a charge led by the hero and his party. There is active propaganda against demonfolk, with reasons such as how they eat children or wanted to conquer the planet said by peo - MonarchRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a good story to distract yourself for the afternoon. Very wholesome, makes you want to protect the protagonist because of how much a simpleton she is. It's pretty short, so we're not really given much of the world, only the places where the story revolves around. Nonetheless, I'd still recommend if you're out of stories to read.
- RedHemlockRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A great light hearted story that also pulls on the heartstrings
The characters are enjoyable and relatable
Do I wish there was a bit more consequences for some characters actions yeah but that’s probably just my inner edge lord and the ending isn’t bad so it keeps it’s quality throughout - RocketWeaponsGuyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is 100% worth checking out. It does the "dumb, innocent, lovable" MC well, whilst not compromising on the other characters' funny doings, internationally.
The plot isn't anything much to write home about, but rather you should take your time to focus on the worldbuilding, which subverts and replaces many of the typical tropes associated with Demon Lord type fantasies, and also explores the aftermath in its own way. The author has a potential sequel in the making to better utilize the world, and I'm looking forward to it.
Grammar is perfect. - AlfonziakRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This book does everything that it says it does its extremely funny, adventurous and more. It has extremely memorable characters and setting. The story is really engaging I couldn't stop reading till I was finished and now I have hole and cant find anything to read to fill it. (╥﹏╥)
The only bad thing I can say about this book is that the story is too short which I guess fits as it is hummorous story with basic premiss. - DoodlinkaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A fun and lighthearted short story with near perfect grammar and style. The plot relies on accidents and coincidences to progress, and the ending is a bit abrupt, but these didn't bother me in this context. The characters were fun and varied, if simple, but again, it's not an issue for a short comedy.
- Mader LevapRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Very cute story. Set in aftermath of war with Demon Lord (classic), it explores not just main storyline of Lord's dumb sister being pursued by unreasonable Hero, but as sidenote also what happens to Hero's party after victory (and not all of it is good).
Amusing coincidences, tidbits about what happened back in war, nice dialogues, rampages with a lot of property damage and one certain very magical shovel... if you like that sort of thing, you will like this story. - BrGastlRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0A good book though it doesn't strife for much. Grammar is doing fine. The style is perfectly fine, but the story basically boils down on the MC being inncoent and dumb as hell, while having strenght of something else. The characters aren't bad either, they show variety, few faults and can be considered more or less well rounded. I guess the main fault would be that it reads like a book for the younher generation?
