Description

How does a 65 year old, ex navy seal survive the integration into the multiverse? What if, in the case of wrong time wrong place, that individual was integrated as a monster and hunted by fellow humans in the noob zone for easy XP? What if, to top it all off, that individual has a really low luck score and can't get it any higher?

Well, it takes a love of pot roasts, an ability to talk to oneself, and 40+ years of survival skills to make it all happen. Oh, and maybe just enough unluckiness and a proclivity to undergo hardship to become unstoppable.

I think the story has a lot of potential. It only had 2 chapters up when I read it, but I look forward to more. I laughed out loud a couple times, and I think the characters are fun and quirky. I also like the take on the main character. I feel like most Lit-RPG books focus on a young guy, but the main character is older and has a good backstory. Definitely worth a quick read.

Spoilers ahead
Stories of the litrpg apocalypse genre like this one are a dime a dozen on royal road, however, this one is ahead of the pack in more ways than one. It has no significant language errors, making it an enjoyable and easy read. Aside from that, the MC makes the story so much better. He isn't stupid by any means, and he seems like a real legitimate person with a love of food and nature, makes me think of people I know just like him. The system aspect isn't anything bizarre or nonsensical, and the overarching story arc about the 'system admins' or 'devs' being intent on getting rid of him makes for some solid world building potential. Not to mention, the fact that the MC is sitting on the potential for a whole nation, world building indeed. I hope the author can go that route, and somehow spin the story to have the MC and his hob nation evolve into a power strong enough to resist the ‘Devs’, just food for thought. Binged all that is available to me so far, and recommend this to anyone looking for a fun story with an interesting premise.
P.S. Thanks to the author, I hope you don’t drop this story.

Overall, I feel like this story has some pretty interesting ideas, and it does most of the things it does competently enough. There were some points that certainly annoyed me, and it's not like it was some life-changing story or anything, but it has been good enough to at least keep me reading so far.
STORY:
There doesn't seem to be too much of an overarching plot/goal so far, but it isn't far enough into the story for that to become much of a problem; so far, it's mainly a tale of survival, focusing on the main character trying to overcome short-term roadblocks and find a stable life by growing in power. There do seem to be a couple plot holes, though. They aren't so bad that they can't be overlooked while reading, but are still worth mentioning, such as (spoilers for beginning):
In the prologue, the main character is named as an "anomaly" by the system that assimilates into the world. It seems to do so because the main character currently resides in an area that has been designated as a monster spawning area. This naming of the main character as an anomaly is what kicks off the entire plot, setting people against him and putting him in the situation he finds himself in. However, it is specified that he is the only person in the entire world that is named as an anomaly for this reason. This feels incredibly, incredibly unlikely. You're telling me that out of all ~8 billion people in the world, only one person happens to be in the wilderness at this time?
CHARACTER:
The characters are what really justify the lower overall score here. The main character isn't unlikeable, but there isn't much that really sets him apart from anyone else. Overall, he's fine. My main issue comes from pretty much everyone else.
