- BF RockriverRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is well written, well thought out, and keeps you sucked in.
I've read over 200 litRPG, Gamelit, and Dungeon core novels. This is one of the better ones.
The author also seems to take suggestions to heart, without letting it control the story they are writing. It's a sign of someone who will go far.
Worth the read!
Keep up the good work. I'll be following this one closely. - BRhymesBoiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Six chapters in and I'm down. Thank god no dang dungeon fairy to deal with. Sick of them. Some like them, I don't. Will read morr then update review. Hope the story completes. Too many fizzle out. Was hoping to see an actual dragon but not sure what the author has in store. Hints that things might return make it promising.
- GraySinclairRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First off, the writing is excellent. Before anything else I'm going to say, I'll say the writing is fantastic. That being said, it feels like I'm being told a story rather than the story unfolding as I read it. Not the worst thing, but it's there in the back of my mind. The writing is enough that I forget it for a couple of paragraphs, but it always comes back around. I don't know if it's the authors style, but it isn't bad, just different than what I'm used to.
Kai seems interesting for what little we've seen so far, nothing that helps or hinders him yet except for antagonizing the bullies, but I get his motivations.
The cast of background characters, like the wizard seem interesting so far, but it's too early to get a good judge on the story so far.
I'm leaving such a positive review right now because the writing drew me in so, I will be updating my review as the story unfolds, but for now. The author deserves my five stars! - JohnDelvfarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thank you for all your hard work>
I like the storytelling feall of this tale, soo differant from many others. Kai, Ban, Ronda as well as the minor characters we have seen so far ar fleshed out with distinct and likeable character. each with their own motovations, fears and strengths.
I look forward to what comes next!
John Delvfar - KRDimmickRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good twist on a classic genre. The author combines adventure litrpg with dungeon core, which I've not seen much of before. The gaming elements are simplified and straightforward so they're easy to follow and add to the story rather than detract from it like some do. It had me laughing out loud several times too :) Overal there's an Epic Fantasy vibe, which I love. Have a read!
- Ninaross56Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am intrigued with the developing characters more with each chapter. I look forward to each addition of another chapter. Very interesting reading. I am excited to see how Kai can be part human and part dragon. Also how the new character, Rona plays into his journey with Ban the earth core.
- RoethanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A great story with rpg elements that doesn't have you scrolling through pages of blue boxes. Also, the author has finished book 1 so no worries on it being left with a cliffhanger.
I didn't much care for the protagonist at first, as he is a bit childish, but he grows up a bit and gets better. The other characters have their own personalities and reasons for doing things, shallow as some of those reasons may be for some of them, keeping them from being cookie cutter cut-outs.
For grammar, there are some mistakes, not enough to be annoying, personally, but I saw a few. That said the author is working on an edit and it will be fixed up after the initial book is posted.
All in all, a very nice read and I'm ready for the next chapter! Give the story a shot and it will definitely be worth it! - berokoffRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Want to see more chapters come out. Fun read, but still early on in the book. Will update review when I get further in. So far, seems like author is trying to subvert the tropes that are so common in litrpg and dungeon core. Hard to do as there's a bunch a books out there already. Like the dungeon Ban the most so far. Stuffy and meant to be.
- ronlodelllahrRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am loving this book! A fresh and exciting take on dragons and on dungeons! It's a two-fer! I like the characters and the world. My only complaint is that I've caught up with the author and there is nothing more for me to read today! Thankfully, he puts up more every day, so I can overlook it. I urge everyone to give this story a try right away!
- tastytotsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The writing style is very descriptive and feels like a fantasy novel, before showing that it does have RPG progression such as killing wisps for EP.
The story is a bit more tame and subtle with its start, compared to lots of fictions on this site that play up an anti-cliche (like everyone loves large chests and the reveal about the literal meaning of chest), so this story is for you if you want to actually get lost in the world.
