- BudgetvalueRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Guy gets thrown into another world but retains memories and sort of wants to stick it to the corporation who did this to him while also sticking it to his new hunter goth elf lady with a sad backround.
Writing is decent, author could slow down and describe things more occasionally but it gives a driven kind of tone to the story as is. Tags are there for a reason so be aware but nothing smutty is in your face forced for the plot. Some of the bodily movements described get a little too hard to parse like a game of twister in some of those scenes, but otherwise if that's what you're after while reading those aren't bad at all. Excited to see where the author takes the character in this fantasy world that has proven to be rather hostile. - RichFRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I am enjoying this litRPG adventure with its humorous tone and erotic elements (offsite).
Style: The Grind is easy to read with occasional intentionally-weird names given to fantasy creatures. The author confines the narrative to a single font, which adds an element of consistency for readers. Explicit scenes are confined to their own optional-to-read chapters kept offsite. While somewhat detailed, so far they have been confined to what I would define as "normal" sexual bounds. Fortunatley the author does not seem interested in exposing us to borderline (what many would perceive as gross) behaviours.
Story: The framework is isekai / litRPG, with both elements maintained throughout. I.e., it matters that the MC is originally from Earth, and that he now exists in a world wirth ongoing Role-Playing Game mechanics. It originally focused on a growing relationship between the now gold-skinned buff Human man and a beautiful Elf woman. They have explicit erotic encounters, but those are limited to their own chapters, shared at another free-to-read writing site. (He is worried that the explicitness might cause problems here, either with site administration or some Royal Road readers being opposed to explicit scenes.) The cast has slowly expanded, and where I am in the story, there appears to be the likelihood of a harem developing.
Grammar: Excellent. I believe the author is a very literate native-English speaker.
Character: There have been very few characters so far. They have been well developed, but not completely so. Time given to the humoruous and harem elements means we get less backstory and motivation. That is only a minor nit, but is why I did not give this element a full five stars.
