The Great Erectus and Faun
Community Rating
Description
The Great Erectus, otherwise known as "The Big Guy" is NOT a god. Don't call him that. It will tick him off. He and his newfound apprentice/sidekick the definitely not a creation goddess Faun have a little problem.
The Big Guy's universe is blowing up.
Faunmighthave had something to do with that. (She feels awful about it BTW)
They must rush about the unraveling universe saving (or judging) worlds as the end of all things is bearing down upon them at the speed of light, so they have a bit of time but really can't mess about. Along the way they will encounter Lovecraftian horrors, divine ex-girlfriends, surly AI's and a host of other hassles.
Enjoy such delights as the complete destruction of the universe, a children's "Christmas pageant" except where "the greatest story ever told" involves an eldritch horror from another universe, and an innocent misunderstanding concerning the exact definition of a "red dwarf".
Existential dread! Lovecraftian comedy!
It's as much madness as can be shoved into a single work and still remotely make sense!
If you enjoy completely off the hook lunacy, this one is for you!
Author's note: This series deserves a little bit more love than I've been showing it of late. I am now committing to releasing a chapter every Sunday.

- agamatusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0(don't worry about the "reviewed at", I read the story on reddit)
This story is about the antics of very-much-not-gods-we-swear (because they are barely not omnipotent or omniscient) fooling around in the (or at least a) multiverse.
The scale of the story is unbelievably huge, the entities can be ten to the stupid eons old (an eon is defined in this story as the amount of time between the big bang and the heat death of a universe), looks like an Homo Erectus in a bathrobe, pull red dwarves (both kinds) out of their pockets, treat a matriochka brain built around a super-massive black-hole like a roomba and describe a false vacuum decay as a minor annoyance (because the Great Erectus's universe is well designed thank-you very much), and yet, they don't feel OP or boring !
there is endless amount of hijinks to be had, like the time where they had to stop a specie from genociding themselves because there was a problem with their "ascending to a higher realm through digitization" plan and with only one accidental zombie apocalypse (Faun is doing her best but this shit is hard) !
It's an all-around really fun and nice (some would even say wholesome) story that do not take itself too seriously that I highly recommend ! - kdb1031Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Truly amazing work, love the worlds built, the lore, and how scary faun can be. That and the momma of cthulu and the OG big G himself in his custom bathrobes. Don't want to spoil too much but it is a truly great read to enjoy. Plus humans totally would do what we did in the first chapter so yeah it makes sense, a false vacuum bubble lol
- leafblazerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Big themes: AI and self determination, multiversal and benevolent and fun AI-run entertainment corporation, exploration and characterization of folks with very different minds, eldritch ethics, very good character development of little mortals and godly beings alike, and... Well, as a side thing, that AI corp also established a pretty good and actually helpful Adventurer system.
If you were concerned that this was some story of a super OP human god, well, it isn't. It also is not off-puttingly grim like the first maybe 2 chapters describing the plight of some humans in some far off universe. It really lightens up and gets into deeper, more meaningful interactions. The real focus is the budding, female Entity of nature/creation from the world and universe that got vacuumed away, and her adventures with other Entities.
It focuses A LOT on the sort of everyday folks. An actual crab, slowly ambling it's way to Entityhood. A leader of a world that was kinda nice and accidentally
Got a zombified version of her from uploading their minds + godly bad luck, but the multiversal and pretty benevolent AI company set up the infrastructure for the zombies and humanoid to get along.
If anything, this story shows that there arent... Usually perfect instant solutions with sapient life. That world still has a lot to adjust to, and it zoomed in further by focusing on a kid and her parents after her.. Transformation.
And a fun dwarf that ended up with his skills translated to
Internally repairing an AI ship that was well on its way to villainy by consuming worlds with sapient life, and being rcompletely isolated from other AI and the wider universe. Also helped by the nature protag entity.
Vera, or whatever the nature girl's name is, could've just killed an evil guy like anyone else... But she went with a much kinder approach.
She saw that the guy's family had multi generational issues with crime and abuse, so she let him peacefully... Become a tree and just heal for as long as he want - mattawRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is brilliant world and character crafting, based on madness. Genuinely wonderful twists and turns keep you engaged in a universe that makes perverse sense! No uncomfortable deus-ex-machinas despite the complete overpowered nature of the characters in the story. Even the mortals spring to life with only a few paragraphs without appearing shallow.
Sit back and enjoy some of the multiverse's agressively-not-Gods going about their "lives". I recommend a comfy chair and alcohol as a good partner for this story.
