- CaiofcRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a great novel full of Snek greatness for those who loves monster stories.
Funny Part:
Snek loves his creator, the greatest and awesomiest Time Core, but due to some coreless intruders (Yumans), it ends up eating/uniting with his creator, and thus embarks in it's awesome adventure to become the bestest Snek.
It will definitelly become the Godest Snek of all times, ending the endless () conflict of the World Dungeon and uniting it under the Great Core.
Serious Part:
(Decently) light-hearted story about a sneak on it's journey to protect it's core/creator that ends up involving itself with a bunch of humans. Nothing specially new on the monster story formula, but a cohesive and well written story, with little to no grammatical errors.
It may get a bit slow at times, and the MC may not explore his abilities to the limits according to some people, but the story and the Snake's decisions are very consistent with it's personality and the worldbuilding. - Eclaire_de_LuneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely top notch as monster evolution stories go. The genre always involves a balance, for protagonists, between appeasing the inherent (human) morality of readers and retaining whatever bestial paradigms exist in the creature of choice. This one finds an excellent balance that shifts with the plot and development of the character in a very organic way. Prose is high quality despite heavy use of the animals-dont-know-words trope, plot is great and stays within scope of events, and characters are very well written for such a fast-paced story. Binged the whole 110 or so chapters and enjoyed it the whole way through.
- Galaxy876Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Time loop stories are becoming more popular by the day and this is one of the most promising! I won't compare it to any other work, because the dynamic of this tiny snake is one of a locomotive, continuously advancing. And similar to our slithering MC, the writing's pacing leaves you always wanting for more, and then the Great Core fulfills your wishes and gives you what you're hoping for with amazinlgy written chapters. Easy 5 stars.
- Hallowed RavenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like snakes. I like stories. I especially enjoy stories about snakes. The writing is good, with only my poor reading comprehension stopping me from just completely losing myself to it.
Also, just for funzies, here is my opinion on the idea of ouroboros. Please don’t take this seriously.
Snakes are almost universal, with only Antarctica, Canada, the Northern bits of Asia, and Ireland being notably safe (although snakes were never in Ireland, so St. Patrick removed a different kind of “venomous creatures”). This allows many cultures to interact with them and figure out different ways to slot them into their mythos, and allow different cultures to understand the gist of “ouroboros”, but Occam’s razor be damned, I think my explanation is cooler. The base of this idiotic string of ideas is tied to ball pythons. Ball pythons, as you might have guessed, are a type of snake. They are very common as pets, leading to them having a large market for specific colors and patterns. One of the rarer patterns is the “spider morph.” This morph’s gene is directly tied to a lack of coordination and balance, making the sale of such snakes to be banned in many circles. In my eyes, this could allow for a different gene to break: the one that controls your kinesthetic sense (a general understanding of where body parts are in relation to one another). This is important to ouroboros, trust me. Another thing to note is the natural habitat of the ball python, being west and central Africa. If you’ve done your history, you might understand that this is just about where humans were likely to have come from. If somehow magically stars aligned, it might have happened where a group of humans migrating, could have run into a snake, (not a ball python, but that one with venom) had managed to be born without the gene that gave them their kinesthetic sense. And if that snake had managed despite it’s disabilities to reach the length that it could see its tail by the time the humans were there, potent - LukkasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an interesting story that focus on a non-human MC. I love how the writing style matches the MC thoughts without being too human or over simplistic.
There's decent pacing and power leveling, which stops the story from being too boring.
The story shifts from the perspective of the MC to a group of humans, and back again which keeps the story fresh - It's a nice break from the MC monologing. - Steve WRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is such a lovely readable story. It has great flow and I never felt like I was just powering through a bad chapter to get back to the good stuff. It's all great, praise the great core!
Here are some more words for arbitrary word count requirements. More words just in case.
Praise the noodle! - Tiban DorelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I quite enjoy reincarnated into a monster stories, but it's even better to directly have the story of a dungeon created snake. It is still a bit early to say, but the power gain seems balanced and the interactions with the world interesting. Great job on the mc thoughts for sure.
- darksevenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story brings me back to my personal favorite snake story, the first "The Snake Report" book. It feels very similar in some ways but still has plenty of differences to keep it interesting. Also the power ramp is significantly less steep.
This is a story about a snake birthed from a dungeon core and its quest to honor that core. There's also a touch of "time loop" in this story though I wouldn't call this a "time loop" story as it has yet to be use significantly.
I absolutely recommend this story =) - dragonboltRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0a fun story about a tiny little snek that snowballs into what it currently is, the budding religion of SNEK and THE ALMIGHTY GREAT CORE. Fun story, although I feel as if it's greatest strength, which is the relationship between the snek and the coreless, isn't focused upon as well as it should be, with some members of the main group taking far too long to recieve any proper insight into them or development for their relationship with the snek at all!
- kabsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pretty good, a fun read.
A couple of powerful scenes so far- the one with Will and also the lead snake's struggles, his difficulty, pain and despair, then the pushing through that- that was good to read. I'm pleased that snek has stayed a snek and hasn't become some sort of humanoid- he's kept the interesting viewpoint from the start while also growing in character in his owm way. The other characters are also devently written. They don't all have hugely unique/distinct 'voices' yet, but they're pretty well written so far.
Some of the scene descriptions could use some work. A couple times, I thought one thing was happening, then I realised it was a different thing, because some description wasn't precise enough or something like that- not sure what it is. E.g. the scene with the monster snek spotted behind not-Needle- I thought they were in the tunnel and was confused how they were standing and maneuvering in a tunnel- then I read back and guessed they'd come out of the tunnel into some chamber. There's a couple scenes like this.
So far not something that would blow me away or be super memorable enough to give a 5 star, but a fun read.
The grammar has been perfect so far.
EDIT: it's now earned the 5/5. I really reccommend this story.
