Description

The Great Collapse shattered the world, altering its terrain and destroying governments. At the same time, it brought magic to the world in a wave of chaos. Only the Gray Mage, who appeared just as suddenly as magic and disappeared just as fast, saved humanity from the destruction magic's arrival brought.

A century and a half later, the world is run by the Orders, the Guilds, and the Families, an uneasy peace between the three as the end of the Third Age of Magic draws near. Ryan Novar, heir of the most powerful Family, was born blind. During his Appraising, however, he learned that he possessed great magical potential, which would be wasted due to his blindness.

Determined to not waste his magical potential and to overcome his blindness through magic, Ryan set a goal for himself: become the second Gray Mage. While working towards this goal, Ryan discovers secrets about the Great Collapse, the Gray Mage, and the paradox that was his own birth.

I like the series, however, it took me a while to start reading because of a couple ideas I made up from the synopsis.
Firstly, the mc is not helpless, going from one situation to the next.
Secondly, the mc is not downtrodden and looked down upon due to being blind (it is hinted at, but not seen directly as of ch20), and doesnt have the stupid trope that he must rise from the bottom and show that he is better than everyone.
Thirdly, there isn't blind adoration from everyone, apart from the sneering villains (who would then be put down), those who you would assume to be evil are sensible and the reasons for their actions, whilst not relatable, are understandable.

Story is still the early stages with building up the story line but if the author continues down this path like several of his other stories this is going to be another great story.  I enjoy how the author is able to pull you in and keep you wanting more and look forward to see how the story plays out.
Characters so far are great and I like the playful and sassy side of the MC and the way he looks past his disability and just takes a no nonsense approach to life.  He isn’t afraid to go out and get what he wants vs just sitting back waiting for things to be handed to him.  The authors does a great job describing his characters just enough to allow you to visualize who they are and enjoy how each characters personality builds as the story progresses.
Keep up the awesome job Matt and look forward to many more chapters.

A good story to read if you don't search for something with explosions, conflict and dead everywhere.
It's a story where we live with the MC, and discover with him his power and the world.
No "I'm better than everyone" found in many Chinese story where the MC is one of the few decent people, no "I'll kill all those who anger me" found in the same stories, just a story about someone discovering his powers, and using some of them to find the time to master them all.
A MC with a devilish character, liking cringy and/or remarks about other, and making them at a loss. Full of fun, a good story to read when you are bored of war stories.

The story pulls you in quick and doesn't let you go until it's finished.
Believable characters, believable world, believable conflicts and believable reasons for conflict.
There are enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting and none of them feel forced or unnatural.
Very well written story. Well done!

The characters are consistent and rather realistic, the world building is interesting, and designed well, and the plot is engaged and connected. Errors are caught by the author, or corrected when pointed out.
Characters are well a designed, and work well within their settings. They are developed well, and even if its not all immediately apparent, they are consistent and multifaceted, in a way that an actual person would be.
The technical work of the story is well done, and is realistic enough that it could work if the settings were real.
I personally have a few issues with things, but that is personal taste. I still mostly enjoy the story, and will keep reading.
    Thanks for the story!

Pretty interesting world and we'll written enough story.
Two main flaws are: Human trash main character and the silly God stuff arc.
MC's character was broken few times, when he was either overly kind or overly nasty.
God stuff with all the rules is too silly to even explain.
Stylistically it is also a bit annoying how all characters tend to go on long winded explanations.

The main character seemed interesting at first, in the way he seemed able to still live enjoyably despite the problems that plagued him; but later in the novel when crises had come, it seemed like the main character was living in them, and not struggling to get through them. I understand how the main character is supposed to be a bit OP, but when he is almost entirely unresponsive to all the events surrounding him, it kills his likeability.

    UPDATED REVIEW:
I don't have much time, but I'll quickly go over some of my predictions and/or advice that I gave earlier, and compare them to the story as of Chp. 45'ish.
Is the story still decent? Maybe, for a horny adolescent who's going through puberty.
    No, seriosly.
Does he still want to have sex with any girl that comes within 10 yards? YES, and now its within 3 yards. Three things happen when he meets a girl. He wants to have sex with them, he will have sex with them, or he'll hate/kill them (rarely the latter).
The story just wasn't toned down at all. Maybe some people like this stuff? If anything, the book would be better labeled as Erotica.
Was the magic/training ever given depth? No, it's still as bland as it was even though a majority of the story focuses on it.
Was the MC a.k.a Gary Stu ever given a flaw, or prevented from learning something instantly? Nah, this story is the epitome of self-insert, wish fulfillment fantasy. If you like that stuff, this is the story for you.
Lastly, was the story given any foreshadowing or more build-up? No. It was, is, and always will be Extremely Linear. You know whats going on, what is happening, and what will happen at all times. Not very thought provoking.
In all honesty, I really wish the author took advice from his reviews, but it seems he's bulldozing on ahead. But hey, sometimes that's not a bad thing.
This story just isn't for me.
OLD REVIEW: as of CHP. 23:
So, decent story so far, though there are a few things that you could tone back on.
Making him have sex with any girl that comes within 10 yards of him (and talks to him), is unneeded. It just makes the story feel more juvenile and diminishes it.
Also, please cut back on the useless dialogue with Tyler. Nothing against him, but it's extremely boring, drags the story, and is quite repetitive.
Lastly, the story just seems to be missing something.
More defined goal? More depth to magic/learning rather than him insta learning everything? More build-up or foresha

The main character is annoying in the way he treats the people around him. He appears to feel nothing for the people he encounters. The story does have some good aspects but i enjoy the relationships characters for as well and this story is really lacking in that department

Only got a few chapters in before getting annoyed and dropping it. Seems like it is written by a highschooler for highschoolers to read. The characters are boring and/or annoying. The dialogue is cringey. There is often a lot of space between words which makes reading it aggravating. A lot of info is just lazily dumped. Overall, I wish I were blind while attempting to read this.
