Description

Sam, raised on tales of heroes and gods, yearns for a life of grandeur. Growing restless from his family's secluded existence, he ventures into the wider world, his heart filled with dreams of ascending to the mythical Violet Heaven. But as he journeys, the idyllic world of his mother's stories begins to unravel, revealing a realm rife with suffering and corruption. With each revelation, Sam's idealistic view of heroism is challenged, forcing him to question the very nature of good and evil.

Meanwhile his mother, Neva, once a paragon of strength, is reduced to a mere husk of her former self. Her son's birth leaves her with a crippled soul and a fraction of her former strength. Yet, the memories of her regression haunt her. A cataclysmic war that looms over the horizon. Desperate to prepare her family from the grim fate that awaits, she schemes from the shadows, accruing strength – and hiding from the enemies of her past.

What to Expect:

Multiple POVs.Not sure if it'll work in this novel, but if you've read the Mirror Legacy then its kind of like that.

Complex World. The world is intricate and does not revolve around the MCs. So plot points may seem left unresolved but no worries, they'll resolve themselves later on.

Character growth.MCs start out naive but they're kids so they'll mature as the story unfolds

First Fiction. This can mean anything. But for clarity, this is my first fiction. I believe my grammar is quite good, and I proof read chapters before posting but don't rule out the occasional typo. Grammar should be good though. My writing style may appear clunky but bear with me. I'll get better with time.

    Overall:
this story hits hard right from the prologue. It’s dark, emotional, and full of epic moments that make you feel like you’re in the middle of some ancient, crumbling world. The author does an amazing job of blending high-stakes battles with deep, personal character moments. It’s like watching a tragic, slow-motion train wreck, but in the best possible way.
    Style:
The writing style here is vivid and immersive. The author paints these intense, almost cinematic images that really make you feel the grit of battle and the heaviness of the characters' losses. The pacing is a bit slow at times, but it’s on purpose—giving you a moment to breathe before diving into the next big thing. There’s an almost poetic edge to the descriptions, especially in the prologue, which sets up a haunting, beautiful atmosphere. You can tell this story is laying the foundation for something huge, and the style really draws you into that build-up.
    Story:
This is where the book really shines. The world-building is top-tier. There’s a rich lore behind everything, from the gods to the mercenaries, and you get the sense that every little detail will pay off later. The plot itself is full of intrigue, with mysterious envoys, powerful factions, and some dangerous magic at play. The pacing is strong, and even when it slows down, it’s only to give you more background and lore, which feels essential. It’s clear we’re just scratching the surface of something epic.
    Character:
The characters are already shaping up to be complex and interesting. You’ve got Sam, who’s young and ambitious but clearly still has a lot to learn, and his parents, who seem like they’ve lived through some real darkness. Aziel and Neva feel like they’re hiding a ton of history, and every interaction with them has weight. I’m also really liking how the author doesn’t shy away from making the bad guys formidable—those envoys that show up? Yeah, they’re intense. You get the sense that everyone has their own motivations, and watc

It's really fast paced during action scenes...while still taking the time to build on the lore of the different characters.
The character development is superb and as one read there interactions with the world and themselves start to hit home more and more.
The descriptive imagery world building is amazing...and it's easy to get lost into..
I know it's just laying the ground work for the really epic stuff to start...so it's kinda not picked yet atleast where I am in the story but it's shaping up to be great...definitely something I'd soak up my time into...what a piece!
