Description
Ten thousand years ago, the sky shattered, the earth bled, and reality screamed. Gods and awakeners clashed against horrors that should not exist—things that twisted minds, devoured souls, and laughed at the concept of death. The world did not win. It survived. The Veil Barrier was forged, sealing away the nightmares at an unfathomable cost. Time passed. The world forgot. But the barrier is rotting. Cracks spread. Whispers crawl. Monsters pour through, dragging something far worse behind them. And in the midst of it all, something else stirs. Not a hero. Not a villain. Not a god.A being that should not exist. One even the horrors feared. The world thinks it won the war.It was wrong.

- JestersGambitRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The first 14 chapters of this book is great! Even though we are introduced to many characters, the author manages to give them each their own personality and motivations. The characters feel realistic with their reactions, especially during the awakening ceremony. A very good read in my opinion. The only problem I would say is some parts are pretty lengthy. For example when the Veil gave a warning it felt quite long to read. However, other than that awesome job!
