Shino has just bought a new house which is rumoured to be haunted. Shinol doesn't believe these rumours and thinks they're just made-up stories. As Shino cleans the house, he finally finds out the true nature of the rumours...

Also, remember that this is a short story. An extremely short story. Don't expect multiple chapters or any crazy word count. This is written as mostly a fun side thing that I've done!

    The opening line sets up for an inversion or a comedic bent to what is an obvious horror tag. It is not the kind of line that really works to sell a horror piece. That one sentence was perhaps the tonal change that made this a bit difficult to sink into because our first impression of the atmosphere is one of cliche of a bright and happy day. The prose is good and descriptions get a bit distracting from reestablishing the desired atmosphere. It does build to the climax, but covering a lot of atmospheric ground was difficult.

    This was a fun little story, in its own right! As the author prefaced, it's certainly short, and you shouldn't go in expecting anything sensational. The details and purpose of the story are utterly missing, as are any semblance of character details. But this has been traded for a rather compelling sense of suspense and some fantastic gothic vibes! I wish there were more to be explored in this story and world, but as it is, there's no reason NOT to read. It's just that, unfortunately, there's no reason to read it either.
