Description
Quick Synopsis:This is the story of Reylor, a god-like existence who lost a great portion of his strength when accidentally sent from his “home” to another world. Making friends and learning to harness to power of magic, he maintains his commitment to his prior duty and proceeds to fight against corruption, both on a political front and against what is known as the shade.(Note, this story focuses on action and adventure, so politics are not in depth)
This has been my first novel, which was primarilly inteded as a learning experience, and so it may be a bit rough in regards, but it should definitely be readable and it is a full story. I may make some adjustments to it later on, but there's no guarantee... anyhow, it's free to read, so give it a go! Also, feel free to check out my new website: aretornovels.wordpress.com

- JakylorhideRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I loved both the concecpt and the execution.
Anyone who enjoys op/mc novels will like this one even if it sorta lacks harem (several girls, but only one non-platonic)
Spoiler: Ideas for edit/rewrites
I would say a bit more foreshadowing with the existance of a tier 8 spell. Maybe some more concrete explainations about spell tiers by incorporating spell tier requirements into mage ranking? Make more of a big deal about his retirement, maybe have it as an emotional convo with Lucy? I you have a 4 year time skip so you could have her come back and visit once, build a stronger emotional bond with Raylor, then have to leave again to add a layer of guilt and expand the character? Idk, it was awesome as is anyway, you do you. - PalRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Sometimes when clicking through the 'surprise me' stories of royal road, you find an absolute gem amongst the deluge of stories. This is one such gem.
Firstly, style and grammar: probably the weakest part of this book. For a webnovel, it has good prose and flow, far superior to most books and approaching the level of 'true' published novels. That being said, it also has many grammatical flaws that dragged down my review there. The most glaring issue is dialogue: sometimes it's in quotation marks, and sometimes it isn't. More confusingly, sometimes things that aren't dialogue are in quotations as if they were. Also, the dialogue of different characters is not always sepperated by paragraph. This, while sometimes leading to confusion, is largely ignorable for one who has spent time on this site. Words are rarely replaced with a homophone(likely lazy autocorrect) and figures of speech are occasionally used wrongly(an example being a sight for sore eyes being used to describe a wasteland rather than something pleasant). Issues like this are rarer and only appear once or twice per chapter.
Now the plot and story are great. It's a rather standard affair for royal road. Like many stories, I find that the power level that characters show is rather arbitrary and written to fit the situation, but that's fine. Where it stands out is it's great pacing(again comparable to true novels). Rather than the stretched out format of online novels, this follows the pacing of a nice standalone book.
Finally, where this book really shone for me, the characters. I couldnt help myself from growing attached to them. They act quite realistically and are genuinely good people!(rare) Now, i enjoy stories of schadenfreude as much as the next reader, but sometimes it's nice to read something a little bit more wholesome. Also, there is no lewdness or anything that feels gross to read. Thank you so much for that.
In conclusion: this book reads like a true novel while still having the plot of a fant
