Arol, witness to the massacre of his tranquil village of Cesac by demons, confronts a sinister entity. This being subjects him to a spell, binding him by the "Shadow Contract." Compelled to become the destined hero to vanquish this creature in a specific duel, Arol is marked and sealed by enigmatic rules. Fifty years are granted to him to emerge from the shadows and face his destiny, leaving behind a village in ruins, burdened by the weight of his quest.
