- AuthorSeanHallRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story delivers exactly what it promises: it’s goofy, sweet, a bit awkward, and genuinely heartwarming. The prologue has a slightly different feel compared to the first few chapters, but it effectively sets the stage.
The characters are unique and well-developed, and I’m confident we’ll learn even more about them as the story unfolds. There’s already plenty to enjoy as you dive in.
I didn’t spot any significant grammar issues, which is always a plus. A few sentences seemed slightly awkward, but they weren’t too distracting.
The pacing is well-executed, keeping the story moving at a nice rhythm. Personally, I would have appreciated a bit more detail about the setting and world-building.
The “chosen one” trope takes center stage here, but it’s handled in an entertaining way thanks to the goofy protagonist, so no complaints there.
Overall, this is an enjoyable read with strong characters, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for something light and fun. - Caz LewisRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story is exactly as described in the synopsis. Goofy, sweet, awkward, and heart warming.
The prologue has a different feel than the first chapters, which threw me off at first, because I forgot I was reading a story about a young MC, but it was still good setup.
The characters are distinct and well formed and I assume we will learn more about each as we go along, but there is plenty to sink your teeth into as you go.
I didn't notice any immediate grammar issues so I give full marks for that. An awkward sentence or two, again, nothing of note.
I did take a half star off for style because a few times I wasn't quite sure about something, but after a quick reread I got it. But story moves along quickly and pacing is about perfect. Maybe a sentence or two more about setting, but that is probably a personal preference.
The chosen one trope is what you are getting here, but it is handled well with the goofy MC so no complaints there. I took a half star off for the shortcut as it seemed a little too convenient, but that might be a slight nitpick in otherwise good plotting so far.
All in all you know exactly what you are getting into and it is fun story with solid characters and well worth the read.
