- RadKatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a simple story so far, but it's good.
It's not as number crunchy as most of these types, but it doesn't need it.
The characters are simple, but a few arent.
It's middling pace, and has a narative to fit.
5 stars It's entertaining, and so far hasn't let up.
Most of all there is plot. Seemingly simple hidden plot, but ut's there for the searching. - TempleRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The story is about the head of a crime syndicate that was killed and reincarnated into a wolf cub in a different world - this is litrpg world with stats, levelling and evolution.
Personally, I like non-human reincarnations; they give a break from the tons of isekai and reincarnation stories I consume. And I liked being reborn as a wolf cub, which will then level up and evolve into stronger wolf forms.
The litrpg system is not heavy or overbearing (my preference), it is very reasonable, although a bit simplistic and perhaps generic or familiar in some ways. But then again, litrpg stories take inspiration from each other and RPGs so it's expected that there are some overlaps.
Others might find being a wolf a bit 'lonely' since the main character doesn't interact with a guild, partymates, etc (the usual litrpg tropes), but survival in the wilderness as a non human has it's own appeal. He does have a potential for evolution to werewolf in the future which I think many readers like. I do hope the author inserts a bit more "realism" on how the wolves behaves, including their instincts and capabilities.
That said, I am left a bit wanting with the world. I was hoping for more intense world building in its fantastical elements since we won't have as much character interactions.
And perhaps my biggest gripe is that the main character's background as a sort of mafia boss is not in play at all. He behaves very differently from what you would expect someone with that past would think.
Grammar is a bit shaky at times, but nothing super blatant that jerks me out of the story. I'm not a master at grammar myself, so I just read on.
In all, it is an interesting story with lots of potential. - JacksDawRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Solid grammar and worldbuilding but the MC feels pretty empty. The MC feels super normal as a mob boss. He thinks and acts closer to your normal nerd isekai protagonist rather then a head of organized crime. A large part of that is how everything is worded. His thought process is painfully detailed and explains the process of his thoughts step by step making him sound over analytical and robotic. He overexplains things in thirty words what could have been explained in ten.
That said this isnt a bad story it's got good little progression and a reasonably simple (if painstaking) edit could fix it. - jesus perezRoyal Road★★★ 3.0MY GRIPES
• I know more about the ape king then I do the MC. -_-
• A tamer knows random teleportation magic...
• We were immediately given a goal for the MC(finding the sister) and then he gets transported into some random place that has nothing to do with it. So the MC realistically will never find her, seeing as he has no idea where he was or where he's at now In relation to that. If he was at least In the same forest and got eyes on where they went maybe he'd have a shot.
So in conclusion the fight scenes are good and the premise is old but solid.Game elements are ok but barebones. The MC doesn't act like a Don by any stretch of the imagination I feel like the ape kings story is way to hashed out in comparison to the MC. His sister has a sparkly collar on playing fetch in somebody's backyard and will never be found. And if the MC becomes a werewolf it will ruin the story completely. I seen the title and was like cool mafia boss wolf leading a pack awesome and there is none of that so far. - BeleriandRoyal Road★★★ 2.5The mc thought process is so detailed and pronounced but the way he act is like only using 30% of it. It irks me, you can just skip the monologue part and read the action only and you are good to go.
I feel like after all those thinking theories that mc thought it does so little progress to the way he act.
