This Novel is Amazing most of the novels I've read, the mc had cheats, reincarnation or genius talent. This novel show that even if the talent and potential of the mc is Average he still tries to overcome it with hard work and determination. The plot and setting is amazing and the characters are very good.Overall this novel is very good and I've been keeping up with the newly posted chapters everyday, keep doing what your doing, Mistapak.

It's as it says in the description. The MC is a normal person that fights an uphill battle to climb to the apex of the cultivation path. He is smart, studious and perceptive but not a genius, while his cultivation affinity is average at best. But effort leads to gains, opportunities come to those who persist and having a good personality is not always a flaw in a cultivation world.
The world seems well constructed and the story is well written. There is some roughness but it doesn't detract from the overall charming feeling. True friendship is also something that has a prominent role in the story.
Be warned though that, as stated, this is not a "power fantasy". The MC is climbing a harsh mountain. His story and his view is mostly what we expect from normal disciples in other xianxia stories. He is like a normal disciple slowly going off-script.
This is a "love it or dislike it" aspect of this story, but If you are tired of the "chosen ones", then definitely give this gem a try.

All in all somewhat decent story. Typical cultivation story, mixed with some typical magitech. Interesting world building and concept, but!! The writing is outright awful sometimes!! A LOT of corrections and rewriting needed!! I understand that English is probably not the native language for the author, but too many mishaps. A lot of work ahead. 2.5 stars

Well, it is definitely getting better both in grammar and quality of the story. Keep it up! 4 stars =D

The Exalt is an amazing story that has been buried by all the new stories comming out in RRL. I was amazed that it had no review... until now. This work is a rough gem, as the rating can attest.
Style: The narration in mostly 1st person, with few short paragraphs as exeptions. The writing has gone from good enough to good over the course of the story. Probably should do a rewrite of first chapters for publishing however. It is lacking in variety in how it's written, and could use more narration from some of the side characters perspective. It really helps to get to know the characters, flesh them out so the MC feels like is interacting with fleshed out people.
Grammar: I am not picky with grammar, as I am not a native in english, but there where some mistakes in the first chapters. Easily corrected with a rewrite.
The story: so far has been standard, with many tropes, but fresh with a different perspective than most stories here. The plot has been very straightforward so far, maybe a little too predictable. Be adviced, this is not a cultivation powertrip (as they normally are). We have seen little of the world, the story is at it's infancy still, but we can already see that there is much more out there. It is sad that the author has not put much thought in describing the greater world. Worldbuilding could be better.
Characters are fun to read about, and there are many interesting interactions going on. Hopefully the writing style continues to improve to flesh them out more.
Overall it is a good fiction I encourage you to read if you're into cultivantion stories. It has some shortcomings, but Mistapak is steadily improving!
Give it a try, you will not regret the time spend reading here!
PD; To the author, please fix the title, it's not interesting enough to attract new readers... at al.

I'll start with a brief review. Note that I'm especially harsh when reviewing.
I liked the story and characters. I really do. The background of the world and power progression the author has written, i like them. However, my biggest gripe with the story is the writing style of the author. If I have to use a Gen-Z terms, it would be that the characters yap too much in a non-interesting and pretentious way. The dialogues feel too long and has too much of an exposition dump in it. However, it is an enjoyable story if you can look past that (which I do by just skimming a lot of the chapters).
Style: As I've stated previously, the characters yap too much when they're fighting. I just want to see the character throw hands and their power. So i'm not a big fan of when the character thinks or talk too much when they're fighting. Just describe to me the unfolding of the fights would be a better choice.
Story: It is a little bit slow because of the style of the author since characters yap too much during their fights. The fights feel dragged on and due to the fact that there are so many fights, it feels like the story is slow too.
Grammar: There are a few errors but I have no issue with this.
Character Score: Quite frankly, the strongest part of the story. Each character has a unique feel and agenda but they're dragged down by the style the author has chosen to write.

A wonderfully revealing journey through a culture without pity or mercy, a shame/honour culture where the pangs of conscience are unknown, where the sole virtue is being strong, and where strength specifically means being able to reduce another person to pink mist on a whim. A culture where might makes right, where the justice of the Athenian declaration to Melios - "the strong do what they wish, the weak suffer what they must" - is never in doubt. A rigidly hierarchical, kiss-up/kick-down culture, where the strong rule and everyone agrees that this is natural and right, because the strong are self-evidently wise. After all: the wisest thing to do is to be strong, to be the pound-er rather than the pound-ee.
And a hero 100% on-board with all of this without the slightest self-consciousness or irony, unless I have read this all completely wrong.
And it works. Yes, the weak and poor live in drudgery and terror of their betters ("may you come to the attention of important men", as the curse goes), but there's no sting to it, no rankle. Because this not only the way things are, it's the way they are supposed to be. It's ok. And anyway, the story doesn't much focus on the weak. Poor Teresa commits suicide on discovering that she faces a life as a level two. Fredrick is distraught, but we can't help thinking that Teresa might have made the right choice considering what her life was inevitably going to be like. Elder Saul seems to think so. This world is a cold place for a noble-born without good Exolsia. It's rather like not having money in an Austen novel.
Ou hero doesn't grow much. No-one does, really. Every trial, every lesson only teaches one thing: get stronger. Study harder, train harder, meditate harder (a contradiction in terms, but ok), moar buff, moar magic, moar rarwr, knock back another potion of xp, fight something bigger, and don't forget that it doesn't count unless you are bleeding in at least a couple of spots when you are done. Break a bone, if you can m

As I've said, this is, to me, a somewhat simple story, but clean.
It's underdog, while somewhat lucky, is quite fortunately, still an underdog,  the  progression of the story pacing is good. Its cast is effective.  The writing is good enough.
It's villains could be better, and the other characters need more fleshing out but this is just the start so it's okay. Keep up the good work!

The overall story so far has been really enjoyable. The MC Oscar is as average as it comes but because he is willing to be selfless instead of selfish like most of the other characters, powerful entities take notice gently nudging the scales to help him catch up with other characters with more 'talent'. (Talent is the word the author uses but considering a character's talent is completely genetic outside of random mutations I think 'potential' or a similar word would have been more appropriate)
The style is fairly cliche for a cultivation story but the author brings in multiple different concepts to stop the character from meditating until he is a god.
Grammar is definitely the weakest area of this novel with inappropriate syntax and word choices galore throughout the story but the intent is still understandable and while I automatically had to translate the sentence to make more logical sense I was able to follow along with no problem. Anyone who has read Chinese Web novels translated into English will have come across this low level grammar in the past.
Characters are slow to bring out depth and some characters seem to become awful human beings very quickly when being told they are "really talented" for being born with a stronger core. The author in particular wants us to believe Gilbert is this evil character because he goes from weak victim to one the strongest person of his generation overnight and lets the attention go to his adolescent mind leading to an unfortunate tragedy. Upon learning of the details of this tragedy multiple characters immediately describe Gilbert as a reprehensible human being who should be punished and not the actions of a 15 year old child who made a mistake.

A fun series. I like the characters. The story is good so far. And I look forward to where it goes. A few grammar issues, but nothing overtly horrible. Just finished the prison arc and I am interested where it will go moving forward. Oscar isn't an OP main character. But he has gained an advantage in a unique skill that will surely help him progress from here on out.

For a supposidly "Western cultivation" story. The only thing about it that is western is the names of the characters etc. The story style is still the same as most eastern ones. IE Pretty bad with the word choices used. (Translation issues i believe)
That said.. The story itself is not terrible. But its also not great. The main characters are for the most part forgetable. The interaction between characters is .. Well its very Asian cultivation novel.
the author clearly put effort into the story. And that deserves recognition in and of itself.
