Description

"Strange as it may seem to you, it never occurred to us to escape until it was too late and my older sister was dead on the table. That was the moment everything we thought we knew about our lives changed. We had always assumed we were more valuable to them alive than dead. Dead, they wouldn’t get to finish their research. It was why they took care to ensure we were happy and healthy. Cooperative.  It was why they brought Grandfather in to care for us. They needed us to feel like participants, rather than mindless animals they had created in a bottle. It was a safety thing."

When one of the thirteen involuntary participants brutally kills a sentry that was attempting to force himself on her fragile older sister, everything changes. The once stable environment they had grown up in is thrown into chaos as new management arrives and it is made clear that their home is no longer safe. A series of seemingly chance happenings later, events are set in motion that will change the course of  Evenaar's history in ways no one expected.Disclaimer: Some characters in this book were created in conjunction with others. Credit where credit is due.

Credit for the character of Auria is shared with Missy Brooks. Credit for the character of Ven is shared with C.R. Brooks.Credit for characters in later books is shared with Isaac Moon, Alek H. Long, and Danny Brooks. These five individuals are worth mentioning here, as they each helped me design a key part of the world of Evenaar. Despite it now looking very different than they remember, without each of them Evenaar would not exist and for that, I will always be grateful.

This series is intended to be a cycle of 6 books that grow to encompass epic journies, political and supernatural intrigue, magic and science, and the fate of Evenaar itself hanging in the balance. I would love to hear from you all about what you think of the story. Feedback and advice, both good and bad, are always welcome. Even if you just want to offer your predictions, thoughts, or encouragements, I would love to receive them. I might not respond, but I will read each one as I get time.
