The End of Magic

The world is cruel and governed by omniscient beings known as the Fates. They bestow upon each individual a Class, a short summary of who they are as a being divorced from their history but encompassing their very being. Their role in life, their aspirations, their desires, all of this can be contained in a few short words.

Hundreds of years ago the kingdom of Amaltryss used the power granted by Classes to overcome the tyranny of mages ruling over them and obtained their freedom exterminating them to the very last. They thought that magic was gone, finished, and would never return. Discovering exactly how wrong they were, Elias stumbles into a world larger than he could have expected.
