Although the premise is interesting, the MC has a few rare qualities  compared to other protagonists of this genre, the pacing, especially at the start, prevents me from fully diving into the story.
This story goes in circles, and the author does a lot of telling instead of showing.
For example, at the beginning, the story could start with the MC barging into his boss’s office and submitting his resignation letter.
The way it is written now, with the flashbacks interlinked with current actions makes it really hard to follow.
The prose is also a bit repetitive in terms of sentence length and structure.
However, I would like to point out how refreshing it is to have a pro-active MC. It’s nice to see someone who takes his life into his own hands, even when the whole world is (literally) falling down on him. And I’m a firm believer that a good protagonist can more than make up for other issues with the story.
