Short story of epic proportions with entrancing prose and well-developed characters. It is quite a satisfying read and I would be glad to read more about the main character.
Not enough content to really comment on the magic system, however, it does seem to bring interesting concepts with its affinities and disaffinities.
    Overall a solid story.

The Ebon Swamp is a well-rounded story as a standalone work, but also shows much potential for prequels or spinoffs.
Style: Elegant, balanced prose, immersive but not too flowery. The combat scenes are vivid and easy to follow, the dialogues lifelike and fitting the genre.
Story: Streamlined narration heading in a clearly defined direction, without unnecessary ramblings and with just the amount of hints at past events that whets the reader's curiosity.
Grammar: At the stage where I saw the text, it could use a little more editing, especially with regard to dialogue tags and formatting, but for less nitpicky readers it doesn't detract much from the experience.
Characters: One thing that I found great about The Ebon Swamp is that there are no unlikable characters (including the villain). Gregor, the main character starts out as a soldier-teamster in service of the Silver Hawks, but he soon proves to be one of the smartest members of the party. I kept my fingers crossed for him all along. The adventurers (or at least those who stay alive long enough for the readers to relate to them) are a professional and reasonable bunch who can keep their heads level in the thick of things and never fail to appreciate potentially life-saving insight. They stand a good chance against the sorcerer... but will that be enough? ;)

Nice. My first fiction read on Royal Road. You suggested it to me on reddit and im grateful. I liked how it doesnt feel like anime and not too heavy on fantasy. I usually prefer scifi stuff but this medieval theme appealed to me. At few points it felt abit rushed, like you didnt want it to be longer. The Silver Knight is obviously best character here, but in description i thought its going to be about Gregor. I kinda knew half way where this was going with their guide. Typical case of greedy "im the best" warriors rushing to their deaths without knowing what they are up against. Also i couldnt see some characters clearly sometimes, like the only thing that seperated them were their names, i couldnt grasp their look or description very well. Read it in 2 hours. Could be an awesome movie :D
