Description

Luck—or rather, the lack of it—has haunted Jack his entire life. Every decision he makes is carefully calculated to minimise the role of chance, yet misfortune always finds a way. Missed trains, lost jobs, wrong place at the wrong time—each setback small but relentless, slowly adding up over the years.

But now, thanks to an incident between two eldritch entities, the barrier between worlds has been torn open, and mana floods the Earth, catching humanity unprepared for the chaos it brings. For Jack, however, something even stranger is happening. His luck—now a measurable stat, tangible, and completely out of control—is skyrocketing. Yet, somehow, misfortune still dogs his every step, and with each unlucky twist, the stakes grow higher.

    Great novel! I feel like it has too much potential for the power system and that not much was thought out for the future interactions between the stats.
    I feel like there are going to be class like factors but it has been a while since reading this novel so I can't remember how it went.
    I also love how the emotions of the characters were extrapolated and I present every step of the way. When depressed/traumatized it is distinctly in the background of the interactions like a dark cloud.

    I love the fact that luck doesn't just pertain to good luck in this universe. The mc having bad luck but not bad enough to kill him makes for a more interesting read, it gives rincewind from Discworld vibes.
    There were a few grammar changes needed but otherwise not bad.
