I gave this a 5/5.  I literally read book one in a single sitting.  The story is captivating and moves at a great pace, straddling slice of life and character development.  The humor was consistent and appropriate, not overused.  Overall a fun experience and I am looking forward to binging book 2!

Story is very captivating and the delivery is unique. I feel like this is under appreciated and that it deserves a better score and for more people to read it. I also think that it may be an acquired taste, but I like it’s style and it’s humor is good
    suggestion to author:
Pls add POVs, like say (name of character) POV, before changing

As I delved into the story of The Dragon of Roads, I was very captivated by the quirky yet familiar style of character indroduction and plot. I'll admit it was slightly confusing at first until I got furthur in and  learned more about the universe. Once I read through the whole thing, I really wanted to read it again and put two and two together and it was even better the second time.
As for the style, I'd say its very interesting and, in my experience, rather unique in presentation and character personalities. I was pleasantly surprised that the interactions werent basic light novel kid safe transactions and had some real meat in the sauce. I quickly became aware of who my favorite characters were and what they did that drew me to them.
For story, I believe wholeheartedly that the story brewing throughout the book willl be very entertaining and keep me wanting more and more. Without potential spoilers, lets just say that theres a few relationships that I'm highly invested in and the overarching story seems like it could explode in scope at any moment.
Grammar is pretty on point through most of the book. I'm almost certain the parts that dont seem correct are actualy direct quotes from characters in the book which technically makes it correct so top marks there.
Character score I had trouble rating because im so polarized by many of them which I believe is a great thing in a novel. most characters, even the ones i dont like, are fleshed out and have fully crafted backstories save for a few who could probably use a tiny bit of extra info but I could also see more of that in future books when it becomes more relevant. Judging solely on what i have read, I think there is a solid balance of pertanent details and possibly strategic omition taking place.
Final thoughts: I'm giving this book a 4.5 rating for the intriguing use of what i believe to be some unique styles and perspectives on the universe crafted in the story. I believe the characters, while following some typ

Like I said, writing style is very old-timey and not my cup of tea, bu the content is very solid, the pacing is good, the characters are solid, the plot is solid. I believe many of the other reviewers that they finished the book in one sitting. If the writing style didn't turn me off, I would have too. However, I can't ignore my personal preferences. That doesn't mean the book is bad, so I will rate appropriately!

The story is a mix of power fantasy and romance/Slice of Life. The main character is a bit of Mary Sue and a majority of the story is about him being involved in many situations and always having a solution or his affairs with women.
While not inherently bad, this story is not for everyone, if you're looking for a serious and gritty story, I suggest looking elsewhere.
Style: It's an interesting mix of past tense (for most things) and present (mostly for battles and some conversations). I actually quite enjoyed it but tit could be jarring at times, especially during skill tree explanations and such. (Or the classic - I did not know yet but that rock I slept on would become a relic of the village type of stuff)
Story: My least favorite thing about this story. It's basically a power fantasy with a perfect mc with a harem of hot women. He has skills for nearly everything, always manages to find a way to find or outsmart his opponents, etc etc. Not very exciting.
Grammar: Solid grammar and dictionary, great usage of many obscure words, I liked it.
Characters: As stated earlier, the story is a bit of a powerfantasy so every character is more or less based around the mc and their relation to him with a few exceptions. They were well written and have good exposure/background but they fail to really have interesting quirks or traits for the most part. Perhaps people looking for a relaxing harem/quick romance story would appreciate them more.
The dialogue is ... well it's there, it's what you expect from a story like this, not bad but not really good either.
Overall: I would only reccomend it to people who enjoy Power Fanasties as it does a good job there. I sincerely wish that the author writies a more gritty/realistic story in the future as I really enjoyed his writing style.
