Description

An old friend has sent you a book he swears is true, about a young man born under a curse to become the avatar of an eldritch god, who will destroy mankind's civilization and slay its people.

When cultists attempt to kidnap Jonathan Goldspear, he is forced to leave his comfortable Victorian life behind and join an expedition to the last untamed land in the world. There, he will encounter eldritch horrors and betrayals, deep and bitter, yet also unexpected love and adventure as he fights both his destiny and the ones who would twist him to their own dark ends. Along with original characters, the story weaves in people from the period (like the explorers Stephens and Catherwood, or Jean Lafitte) and others more literary (Doctor Jekyll), recasting them into original characters of their own. Also, the Eldritch creatures and beings of the story are taken from the gods and legends of the Maya people, including some obscure legends documented by a Yucatecan writer who wrote them down in a book (if you're curious to know more, ask me a question in the comments).

Book 1 of the Destroyer King series is finished and will be downloaded on RR in biweekly chapters. You can also download ‘The Guardian of Xibalba’ for free all through 2024 (Amazon Kindle is 0.99$). I bought this after reading.  I have no deep thoughts at the moment so instead let me tell you that I am looking at the Mario coffee mug on my desk while a black cat purrs on my shoulder. You may achieve this great height if you read this series. Offer void in East Carolina. Cat color may vary with temperature, atmospheric pressure and humidity. Space cats may be substituted.
