- TeddyGyuRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you like sassy dragons that love human food, this story is for you!
The story starts off as a typical fantasy story but surprises you with bits of comedy and lighthearted dialogue. It includes characters that you can get attached over with their sassy tones and personalities.
I feel like one of the strong aspects of this story is the characters that you’ll meet along the way. I remember one chapter that talked about rocks. Rocks? Now hear me out, it was a funny chapter but the absurdity of these humorous aspects is a nice touch to what I had expected to be a heavy strong. I do believe that the story has the potential to develop into a heavier plot but I am enjoying the lighter parts of it too!
I hupe that the story will keep these certain aspects as it develops further. Grammar is always fine and checked but of course there’s always the missed niche things that’ll be skipped over. author seems to correct it once it’s pointed out. From following this, I know at one point it did have editors so grammar normally isn’t an issue at all. (I don’t know if it still does but it’s still not a problem I think)
Upload schedule (right now) is scattered due to some known health issues of the writer which I don’t mind at all. I’m sure it’ll pick up again like it was over the summer
Worth a read! Consider following if this type of story seems like it’ll appeal to you. - Zauron_11Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It’s really good read that doesn’t veer into complacency after first few chapters, abandoning the premise of the story for typical modern human Mc / shounen protagonist. There is good reason for him staying in human form and intermingling with their society, where even progress of the story skillfully transfers his motivation so reader don’t feel logical discrepancies.
Mc is loyal soldier with clear motivation, interesting story and presentation, as a result of this even when he doesn’t know what to do with himself, the story doesn’t take the hit to quality.
Personally I’m not a fan of his fast attachment to others with his age and experiences, but easy and logical explanation of his current situation, condition and information he came to know, is enough, as I prize logic and rationale in novels very highly.
The world, despite lack of direct presentation, is shown through differences: of Mc country with human one and time before and after his banishment. Through small snippets of information we get to know what author wants us to know, there is also lack of “hated by many” info-dumps.
Story is enjoyable while pretty fast paced, sometimes maybe even too fast, there are moments when author could add more time between certain certain actions like: forest -> potion master -> cleaning after potion assistant (would be okay, but then without brake we got) -> little thief -> fight. A little too much action but it just my personal preference.
I didn’t see grammar errors or at least any gross errors. - SolariumOnTheMoonRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5TLDR: This story is like a snack. It's not too heavy and it's not too dark. A nice fantasy story, don't overthink it just enjoy the read. I say give twenty chapters and see if it's the right type of snack your brain is currently craving.
Grammar: Very infrequent and minor spelling mistakes not much else to say here.
Setting: It's your classic demons vs humans with a small twist. Minor tropes aside I do enjoy the classic feel to the story, It reminds me of stories I used to read when I was still in school.
World: This is where I have to take a few points off though. Some details are glossed over or not explained. As minor as they are I still noticed it. Aside from that the world we have learned about seems pretty well written.
Characters: These dudes are pretty likable so far. We have a dragon who is trying to act like a human and failing miserably. We have a prince trying to change his current unfavorable situation. Then we have the royal guard's and they are homies for sure definitely ride or die boys. I can't say much about them without getting into spoilers but they remind of a group of brothers. I Hope they stick around for much longer.
I can't think of anything else so I'll end it here.
