Description

The Emperors Children Fell to Chaos after their Primarch became tainted in his path to perfection, and twisted by his desire to never fail. Those who would be Loyal to the emperor were lost, destroyed and left behind in the aftermath of the Istvaan Massacres.

Many of the Warriors of the 3rd legion were not privy to the Betrayal, being left behind on other worlds as overseers, or having been recognized as possible imperial-sympathizers and slated for execution. Lost in a warp storm the 32 company of the 3rd was believed lost and the Traitor legions forgot about them. Several hundred Emperors children who banded together to support the loyalists became becalmed in the Warp and were too late to the battle, only arriving in time to weep over the bodies of their fallen brethren, and pick up what pieces of Arms, armor, and barely living meat they could find after Horus, the Warmaster, Bombarded the planet to ruin. Many couldn't take the shock, disappearing into the disarray of the time as Blackshields and mercenaries. The rest turned back on their brothers and fought the traitor legions

The splintered remains of the 32nd millennial, were allowed to survive under severe censure, with their gene stocks being un-retrievable, and the brothers of the three shattered legions being added to their ranks as watchers and executioners The potential for existence was all but dashed. Only after strange Mutations of their gene seed organs, and stranger things in the warp allowed them to survive after a fashion, and only then was their place in the imperium returned once more.
