The Cycler Gangs of Beta Fornax

A thousand years after humanity colonized the stars, society is split between the Academics and the Hipsters. When Juno saves Fern from a rival bicycle gang, they are thrust into the middle of the struggle between their two rigid societies—one which believes in culture and tradition above all else, and the other which strictly adheres to the pursuit of scientific knowledge. With Juno raised as a hipster bicycle gang member, and Fern as a scientist, the two become friends and learn to work together to seek a path that neither society condones.

When Fern detects a mysterious signal from deep in space, Juno joins her on her quest to uncover its origin before the angry biker gangs and vengeful scientists catch up to them. They discover a third society that neither of the others had known about which might just solve all their problems.
