- RznRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5An old man wakes up and finds himself in the midst of deadly mushrooms. The writing itself is mostly good with fine style and grammar, but the second line of the piece is an awkward mess that should be fixed "The frail question from an old man's mouth slopped through my dry, cracked lips." This is a mistake, but it goes to show the descriptive construction that serves as an afterthought to the action. This should be flipped to flow naturally in those cases. The character has no development as the setting and the situation commands attention. It does work, but the lack of connection to our MC and the suddenness of the situation makes it hard to get immersed into.
