- ProconRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I must say, I was almost immediately hooked onto the story with it’s opening because the author does a surprisingly good job of displaying the habits, mannerisms, emotional responses, and inner thoughts of the children. And I especially liked the author taking the time to acknowledge that the story’s protagonist, the sister to the younger brother who is a powerful mage, to actually have feelings of inadequacy and jealously to the situation.
And here we go, something that another reviewer pointed out. Chapter 5: My Life Before - Part 1, takes a massive PoV change. Thankfully, the author acknowledges this and leaves a note stating that this chapter is integral to the story without making the reader feel like they’re dumb for not following or understanding what’s happening. That being said, it is jarring nevertheless, and I didn’t feel that connection with the characters just yet to suddenly be thrust away from them.
In any case, it's a well-written, compelling story with a lot of potential. Excited to see where it goes!
