Most important point for readers: remember that this is called "The Cluster Duck" and that it's a comedy.
This is important because the first half is actually written like a quite serious horror story. It's not until the book that we veer into comedy and that was a little jarring as I had forgotten, well, both the title and the name.
Otherwise, it's pretty straightforward and well written. Bravo.

Having the tags for horror and comedy might work for some stories, but this was well written and solidly in the horror camp until it crossed the threshold into the ridiculous. Ducks. As the title suggests are the subject of story and well, the change in tone was distracting in a way because it went from one side of the spectrum to the other while still trying to retain something akin to seriousness. The result was absurdity. Unique yes, but it clashed thematically.
