Set in the backdrop of a seemingly ordinary American town, this tale takes a dramatic turn when the twins find themselves engrossed in an extraordinary video game designed by their tech-savvy parents.

This isn't just any game, but a portal fantasy, a gateway into an alternate reality. The twins soon realize that they're not merely playing the game, but are living it, sucked into a parallel universe with astonishingly realistic landscapes, magical creatures, monsters, and dangers.

As they navigate this bewildering world, they grapple with intricate riddles, formidable virtual enemies, and the startling realization that their actions within the game carry severe consequences in both realities. What began as a quest for virtual victory turns into a race against time to unravel the game's true nature, their roles within it, and find a way back to their reality.

With the line between the digital and real-world blurred, the twins must rely on their courage, resilience, and unwavering bond to overcome the challenges that lie ahead. Will they manage to escape the game's dazzling but treacherous confines, or are they destined to remain in this alternate reality forever?

I've read up until the point where I'm current on this story now, so I can assess every aspect of this fiction to the best of my ability. Overall, Zelly's Adventures in the as-yet-unnamed fantastical new world she's reached
by playing the video game her parents made
    are very entertaining!
The author pulls you in and establishes a relationship between audience and characters very quickly. From the first two chapters, I found myself caring about the whole family that Zelly originates from, not just the main character whose head we inhabit most of the time. The characters aren't eccentric in the way that a lot of Royal Road protagonists tend to be; they're normal, likable people who have small quirks and perhaps hidden secrets.
In terms of style, reading this feels like picking up a sci-fi/fantasy novel of the sort I used to pick up in the library growing up. The sort of book you wouldn't put down for a whole afternoon, because you wanted to know what happened next. Even if I didn't ever find another book by that author again, I was always game to pick up another book that felt the same way.
The story thus far is one of survival. Heroine versus her environment, which will rarely fail to be compelling. As long as I genuinely care about the main character and also believe her environment poses a threat, there are stakes. And as long as the main character seems to have some potential ability to take care of herself in the environment, but not overwhelming competency at it, there's automatic suspense about whether she can really survive. The author has maintained all of this well, so the story keeps me guessing about what will happen next.
An aspect of the story worth touching on is the intrigue, the central mystery of the premise. I will put in spoilers, since it's a definite spoiler for at least the beginning of the adventure.
Where exactly is the MC? If this is another real world that she was transported to, in a universe with LitRPG elements, it feels a little too conv
