The Chronicles of Orn, Book II: BESET

A month has passed since Orn Avdlak and his family freed his father from the fighting pits of the Nevan Empire, a rescue mission that marked the beginning of a life-altering journey. In that time, Orn uncovered truths about his heritage that have reshaped his destiny: his mother is the daughter of the King of all Halder people, making him and his older brother Erik of royal blood. But it is Erik who has been adopted by the King’s heir and now stands as the next Grand Duke of Holvela, and third in line to the Halder throne.

While Erik adjusts to life at court, Orn feels the pull of forces far beyond the mortal realm, shaping him into something more than human. He is chosen by the goddess Briga as her betrothed, granting him powers beyond his control over the elements, along with a telepathic link to her father, the God Everrin’s vast well of knowledge.

Despite these gifts, Orn is tasked with a dangerous mission: to hunt down the Dark Ones, daemons responsible for the raid resulting in his father’s capture, and nearly sparking the war between the Halder nations and the Nevan Empire, a war that Orn and his family narrowly averted.

With the fate of the world in the balance, Orn must navigate his personal trials, familial responsibilities, and the looming threat of war, all while preventing the Dark Ones from unleashing destruction upon the realm. The question remains: can he harness the power of gods and kings before it's too late?
