Description

After losing his family—and the world—to a megalomaniacal and very snarky AI, Kent has no choice but to accept the machine’s challenge – enter the dungeon, make it to the 30th level, save mankind. And if that wasn’t hard enough, Kent finds himself saddled with a Character Class that seems… less than helpful. Basically useless. Like, there’s good odds he might just kill himself. The Charismatic Glass Cannon.

At least he’s not alone. His brother, armed with a chef’s hat, proves that sometimes the best weapon is a well-cooked meal. Not that he wouldn’t prefer some actual skills. Hey, who came up with these Classes anyway?

In this LitRPG comedy, Kent and his brother must level up, collect loot, and outwit the AI’s sadistic game. From battling bizarre monsters to solving mind-bending puzzles, every step is a challenge. Can they make use of their useless powers and find a way through the labyrinth? Hey, it’s only the lives of everyone they love on the line. Oh, and the world. So like, no pressure.

“The brothers’ banter and the AI’s sarcastic commentary add a layer of humor that keeps the adventure light-hearted and entertaining.” – My Mom

“Greatest thing I have ever read in my life.” – My Mom

“Move out of the wayDungeon Crawler Carl,Kent the Charismatic Glass Cannon is in town.” – Again my Mom

This is a work in progress.Major editing will be done after the book is complete, so therewillbe egregious typos and parts that make no sense whatsoever. Please, please feel free to point any and all of these things out!

Okay probs a bit early for a deep dive but I'm in a mood. Plus I want to give this one a bump cause it’s actually pretty good.
Okay firstly, the opening I thought was really strong. Some folks might say it should get to the action quicker, but I think it’s actually a pretty strong hook and good set-up and we get to the meat of it quick enough. But my tastes have always ran a bit counter to the community in that sense.
Then there’s the characters. Kent’s class leaves him with no choice but to burn all his mana in a single use of a spell, using that spell to its maximum potential. This limitation really grabbed me. What happens when you cast a basic spell like Light Orb with every ounce of mana you have? I just hope SaintEmmett keeps delivering on this premise cause it rules. Oh and he’s got charisma. I won’t spoil it, but the shit with the frogs had me laughing out loud.
Speaking of, it’s quite a funny read so far, with a few rather HOLY SHIT DID THAT JUST HAPPEN LOL moments that had me gobsmacked. No spoilers, but early on there’s a scene that had me wincing and lolling at once.
Anyway, the two leads have a really fun dynamic, and I found that I was quickly invested. Very likeable duo.
Funny story but with real stakes, good pacing, lots of crazy ideas I have quite seen before. I hope it keeps up like this! Rough in some spots but give this one some love.
    Post again!

I've read a lot of stories, but this one is different. It has made me actually laugh out- which is really rare for me.
The ideas are silly and very creative and I look forward to reading more of this and find out what happens to Kent and Jace. I enjoy the 'brothers on an adventure' type of stories, but don't always find them on this platform. These characters, though hyperbolic, feel like actual people making choices, not making choices to move the plot forward, which is a pet-peeve for me.
Great read, and looking forward to reading more.

The book is great! It has a lot in common with Dungeon Crawler Carl, and a few things look like they’re taken from there directly, but it uses a very unique character build, which drives the whole story and makes it special. It’s not exactly at the level of Dungeon Crawler Carl, but it has lots of potential.

Okay so, so far, it’s not perfect, but I think it’s got potential.
Let’s start with the cons. 1) Grammar isn’t perfect 2) Takes a second for it to get to the action. But I mean honestly the build-up is good and I was entertained. But once we enter the dungeon is where it really starts to happen.
Honestly one of the big hooks for me so far has been some of the WILD choices author makes in here. Some crazy shit happens in this story, one bit caused me to laugh out loud and scared my terrier mix awake lol. A pretty wild imagination on display here which has kept the story surprising and fun. Kent and Jace are fun together and their whacky/shitty powers make for a lot of the entertainment value so far. It’s a crazy adventure with a vaguely buddy cop tone and I’m a sucker for that sort of thing.
So I’d say I like it so far and I’m curious to see where it goes, and what kind of overall plot we’re in for. Keep it up.
