Description

In a world where vampires reign with bloodlust and immortality, there exists one anomaly: Kyon Bashega. Born of two worlds, Kyon is neither fully human nor fully vampire. He possesses the unparalleled strength of the undead, the speed, the healing, the darkness of their kind—but with one deadly difference: he can use Flux.

Flux is a mysterious power that flows through humans, a force that bends time, spirit, and body. Few can harness it, and even fewer can wield it without losing themselves to madness. But Kyon’s ability to control Flux marks him as a threat to both vampires and humans alike. His bloodline, a twisted blend of human fragility and vampiric strength, gives him the power to kill even the mightiest of vampires, no weapon required. His enemies whisper in fear: A half-vampire who can use Flux? A freak of nature.

In a world defined by desire, Kyon is the perfect balance—untouched by the weaknesses of either side. Immune to the Moon Tree’s deadly wood, the argent steel that kills vampires, and even the very Flux that burns through human veins, Kyon is both a savior and a weapon. But his power is not without cost. Flux is a double-edged sword, and even the greatest of users fall victim to its ravages. As Kyon's power grows, so does his struggle to keep his sanity intact. Can he control the very force that threatens to unravel him?

Kyon is the bridge between two worlds, but he may be the one to tear them apart. He is a force of nature—a war waiting to happen. And no one, not even Kyon, knows if he can survive it.

I am still reading this story and I'm reeling from the experience. The unique blend of elements and the author's masterful storytelling made for a compelling read that was hard to put down. The characters were well-developed and complex, with rich backstories and motivations that drove the plot forward. The pacing was expertly handled, with a perfect balance of action, suspense, and emotional moments. Overall, I highly recommend this story to anyone looking for a thrilling and unforgettable read. 5/5 stars!

This story follows the MC Kyon who is a supernaturally good boxer in Africa from a place called Zaria who wins a scholarship to the University of Sherman in the west. Sherman is seemingly almost entirely white racially. As it turns out, the source of Kyon's supernatural powers makes him appear similar to a vampire while clearly not being one. By chapter 8 it seems that the MC is headed down a path to become a vampire hunter. But maybe not... you'll have to read.
Grammar: The spelling and grammar if they story are good.
World building: There is some descriptions of people and places to help paint a picture but not enough in my opinion for me to imagine the world Kyon is in.
Pacing: The author starts the story with a bit of excitement with a boxing match that also showcases the MC well. From that point until chapter 6 the only conflict is the self doubt of the MC, him struggling with self control... but barely.... and him feeling like he does belong in a mostly white place. In chapter 7 there conflict again when he is attacked after being mistaken for a vampire. At the end of that exchange though the tension is reduced again as it was based on a momentary misunderstanding.
So by chapter 7 the story has yet to establish the major conflict of the story. This hurts the pacing.
The chapter length is very short, so as far as word count, it wasn't as bad as you mighy think saying 7 chapters. Looking ahead i am fairy confident that the major conflict will be introduced and conflict will arise from it that will drive chapters moving forward.
Character: the MC is likeable and relatable and sensible in words and action. no complaints.
overall it's an interesting concept and it is worth reading.

Hello! I love your story so far, and it's really got me hooked. I was intrigued by the premise, and even though it's started off slow I'm enjoying the world-building. I know I haven't reached far yet, but it's so good already that I know I'm going to read till the end. I love the main character, and the way you have described his skills so far. The only thing I've seen to point out, is that in one chapter it seemed to switch from a first person pov to a third. Other than that I have no complaints and can't wait to read further.
