Pretty good story, And well executed. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
The eccentricities of the main character are shown in a very natural way. Other characters are also pretty well-built. You can always guess how they will react given a situation, and the author uses this to surprise you by introducing a new element.
But never in a way, where it feels forced.
Some parts could be improved; I sometime find myself rereading to get what was being told.
Also, the drug effects are never properly explored. And this may sound like a fan dissatisfaction. But, the secondary character is portrayed to be dedicated to their job, yet their actions go unquestioned despite consistent failures, putting the main character intentionally at risk.

The story follows a briliant scientist who invented this dangerous drug..... and everybody wants it for their own purpose. All futures look dystopian to the MC and rightfully so. What do do about it? Let the political chess begin! The drama is well rounded and shown from different POW's, which ensures that everything is properly appreciated... and fun!
It is placed in an alternate reality or near future, and from the names and places, probably around the regions of Iran, Pakistan and perhaps india. All this to say that the characters and world feel real, like we are getting the inside scope from something happening in our real world. There is a lot of foreshadowing about future plots and clashing motives, a good recipe for this kind of story.
The writing is also flawless, only the dialogs could be made to feel more dynamic. There is a lot of showing instead of telling, which makes this story much easier to read than you would expect given the topics involved.
Can't say much about grammar, my own is not so good to notice anything at this level.
The MC and acompanying cast feels real, there is no suspension of disbelief, and hopefully it stays that way as the story progresses and becomes more convoluted. Quite the challenge!
In conclusion, read this story if you're into sci-fi of the more political kind. It is truly well done.
Edited: After reading some more, I've found that the premise is kind of flawed, which in turn makes suspension of disbelief more difficult. This taints the story, in spite of the quality of the character creation, writing style, subplots, etc.
