A 16th birthday is special, or it should be. Nate Saito can't complain about having his mom celebrate his birthday with him, same as every year before it. He knows not everyone is so lucky. But the people who choose not to be there can be too hard to ignore right back

- RznRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Subtext is important to this, but it does not make it clear in the narrative itself. It seems that the author wants to use the blurb and give context not in the story to shape some kind of emotional response when nothing to that subtext is given. I do not like that short of shaping and it feels like fishing for support - just put it in the story if it matters. From what exists right now, it just doesn't have clear context leaving the reader to wonder or guess if people who are not present, such as his father is divorced, estranged or something else happened.
